Anyone know how I can reach Birdman? I have ordered and paid for a pair of his mat grabbers and a set of his engine bay stickers but now cannot get in touch with him Birdman are you out there???????
Although his website doesn't work for me at the moment I recall that it said that he's away sometime until April?
If you go to his website you'll see the notification that he's out of town unable to process orders until ~ Mar 16th I think
Not sure where he is, but I purchased a set of the carpet grabbers, and they are well worth the wait. I am thinking of buying another set for my 240z and modify them to work. For my 328, a great product, and great service. I hope he is on vacation and is having a great time! Bob
Don't worry, Jon travels A LOT and his Birdman Ferrari stuff is his hobby.....which he is VERY good at. His products are superb. Anyway, he will get back to you and he is not taking your money, I assure you. Jon is a first class person.
I was wanting to look at Birdmans site but I get this message when trying http://www.birdmanferrari.com/ : Directory Listing Denied This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed Is there a new site address for him?
Birdman is outstanding to deal with. i have purchased 5 sets of his fuseblocks. please give him a chance to get back to you, and i am sure he will take care of you. Michael
thanks for the responses his website is down but it looks like he is away so i will wait for him to get back
It's actually summertime down there this time of year, right? Southern hemisphere, opposite of northern hemisphere....he's getting away from the cold.
Hey Joe, does the toilet spin counter-clockwise or is it clockwise when you flush it in the Southern Hemisphere?? Inquiring minds want to know.
It depends on the brand of toilet, but if you're wondering if a symetrical cylinder drains of fluid it most certainly goes the other way in Lima, Peru. Done that. Now, that I've solved that issue, can you help me? I'm looking for a Birdman 308 fuseblock (or a perfect replication - sorry Jon). Jonathan's website notes that he no longer makes them! So...obvious question: What is one to do? Any suggestions? Anyone selling a used one? The Quasi wants to know and as always, it might result in some free publicity. Quasimotor
Hi, no association and have yet to try myself. Looks very neat: https://www.classicretrofit.com/collections/blade-fuse-panels/products/ferrari-308-fuse-panel-pair BR
Wow! And to think I was too broke back in the day to afford $170.00 for Birdman's product! Thank you! I will look into this ASAP. Recently found a lot of my electrics (radio, blinkers, high-beams) are failing. Looks like it may be that f-ing block! Quasi
There is also the fuse block from @TurtleFarmer: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/new-fusebox-covers-for-308-in-stock.687993/ which is a thing of beauty. Was one of the first things I did to my car.
You can try contacting @TurtleFarmer I am very happy with his product and service Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thank you. This looks great. I'd like to convert to the glass fuse compatible block (Birdman's) and see if anyone has one they never installed and would sell it. Failing that, this one looks the best, but I'd like to avoid the blade fuses if I can.
IMHO - the Turtle Farmer fuse box is far superior to the Birdman glass fuse fusebox. I had a Birdman fusebox, and now have a Saprunoff fuse box, which is also superior - but the Turtle Farmer fuse box is even better. While the Saprunoff fusebox uses the factory covers and neither Birdman or TF fusebox do, the TF fusebox at least has the labels on the base module. Gordon (My old Birdman fuse box was junked - it had a few solder connections that cracked after a few years, so I jumped at the chance to get the Saprunoff fuse box a few years ago. Given a chance to get an unused Birdman box vs a TF fusebox - well, I'd still strongly recommend the TF fusebox)
Quick weigh-in on glass (AGC) vs blade (ATO, ATC, MINI) fuses: - The primary benefit of glass fuses is the visual inspection aspect (you can see if the wire is blown) - However, relative to blade fuses, they are more fragile and have poor susceptibility to vibration resistance. Also, blade fuses have a higher current interrupt rating (interrupt rating is the max current at which the fuse is guaranteed to *not* catastrophically fail, e.g. spark and cause a fire). - Blade fuses have been the standard automotive fuse solution for roughly the past 30+ years, for the reasons cited above. Having said all that, both glass and blade fuse aftermarket solutions offered for the 308 are *vastly* superior to the stock "bullet fuse" solution from Ferrari. While these advantages are not as great/apparent at the beginning of life for the fuse assembly, they become increasingly pronounced over the lifetime of the assembly.
"they become increasingly pronounced over the lifetime of the assembly." And NOBODY in the world planned/expected the "lifetime" to be 40+ years. I'm not sure it's fair to criticize a system that worked fine when new (assuming it did) for not working well 40 years later.
