There are a number of small chips on the black front splitter of my 550 Maranello. No big issue, and a sign of 20 years if spirited driving, as the car is meant to be driven.... But starts not looking nice in that area, as a bit too much of the rossi corsa beneath is coming through.

Can anyone advise on the kind of paint to be used to repair those chips?

Why not mask it off and paint it satin black?

I just use Flat Black and small brush on 575. I would just get small can of Flat and Satin and see with is best match for your 550.

I use a ColorRite satin black paint pen I bought on Amazon, where you will find several options along these lines. It was listed as a Honda trim paint color (link below lists a Lexus trim color), but satin black is pretty much stain black and it works great on the 550 splitter. Easy to use and any minute chip disappears with a touch of the pen.

Fully agree... Taz advising me - that means I have REALLY arrived in the V12 GT community now! :)

Seriously: Tried to find that color code (PPG hfm4) at Dr Colorchip or anywhere else on the internet, but couldn't find it anywhere. Is there any other description of it? Sorry, I'm no paints-expert.

The ColorRite pen mentioned above is also not on sale anymore.

Thomas- You may have to get your local expert paint shop to mix it for you. I think I got the code from Bradan.
