Hello all experts and others with strong opinions. I have tried to search on this issue without getting any good hints. The story is that my front hood grill is going out for anodizing but I am unsure about the color. When I bought the car the grill was black and tampered with (See picture), but the car has had a front impact so the grill has been changed / repaired sometimes in the late eighties. Should it be silver or black? I think black is a nice combo with the Prugna color but I preferably want it as it left the factory. It is a 1984 year model. Any input much appreciated.

Silver would be correct. Its not just anodized. Its etched, the the trailing edges are polished then its clear anodized.

Thanks Paul. Silver it will be. First etching that will remove the old surface treatment, then a trip to my metal polisher for a polish on the edge before clear anodized.
