I'm looking for a sport watch with something a little different.
The Blancpain Fathom series is the original dive watch.
The Breitling Emergency is the only watch of its kind on the planet.
Both pretty big (the Emergency is 53MM IIRC !). Both brushed Titanium.
Both around the same cost; 10K like new in box.

Breitling is a cool watch, but it's big, chunky and heavy-not sure I'd want it as a frequent "sports watch".

I have a Breilting Mission Emergency in stainless . I love it, nice sized watch. It is a good conversation starter among pilots.

I bought my son a Mission Emergency when he graduated college.
    He loves it too.

I tried one on "just looking" (stupid mistake..I know ;) ).
They are incredibly light weight for their massive size.
I have a Titanium Ball which is much smaller yet it weighs much more. Ball may be fibbing about the Titanium content percentage.

I'm a fan of the Blancpain, but if you want something AVGeek cool, what about an X-33 Omega Speedmaster?

X-33 is available on the secondary market as squadron watches with a very nice caseback. Might be something to consider.

Of those two, I would pick the Blancpain.

Another one for Blancpain. Breitlings are way too busy for my taste.

    I'd vote Blancpain.

My issues with the Breitling? Firstly - I do not want any form of battery in my watch. Secondly? Has there EVER been a documented case of someone being rescued because they activated the emergency beacon? SEEMS a nifty doodad, but...

I’m gonna go with both. Buy them pre owned for the price of one new. Just saying. Best, Kirk.
