My target is to buy Internal bluetooth TPMS sensors with an IOS app and I am looking for experiences with those sensors and apps For example: - quality of sensor - battery life - measurement accuracy - vendor/model If the IOS app supports CarPlay that would be a unique bonus point for the app vendor. Please share. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Interesting topic Rob, I hope you get some responses. I recently added external (tire valve cap style) sensors to my daily driver, but they're not Bluetooth and I wish they were.
Yes, interesting. Has me looking at this: http://www.tirebull.com/tpms/car-tpms/tirebull-bt03-external-and-internal-bluetooth.html Sadly, I don't get to drive my 348 enough. As such, I always check the tire pressures beforehand.
Hi Wade, Thank you for the url. Here is an internal sensor offering for usd 28 including app. https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/1CQUzqe0T Mixed experiences all over this solution, I like the simplicity with the mobile app. Just launch the app and it displays the 4 temp and pressure. I need to swap the rear tires, so I might order the internals and give it a try. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I have a set of aftermarket two-piece wheels for my 348 that need to be resealed. So using this bluetooth TPMS solution will help me to determine if a wheel isn't holding its pressure. However, I'm undecided on which type of sensor to use, internal or external. for example: https://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-Pressure-Monitoring-System-Mobile/dp/B073PS9HJ3 https://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-Pressure-Monitoring-System-External/dp/B073PSD2FL Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi Wade, External sensors require a tool to remove/install the sensor while changing pressure, that is not practical. Hence I would always go for Internal and a quality solution. There are mixed experiences for those ‘new’ bluetooth sensors: - connection times with app - sensor DOA’s - battery lifetime - pressure precision is lower - accuracy in general Seems to me that the technology / solution is too new and nit robust enough today. I have decided not to buy the bluetooth sensors for now, Instead i will either order one of the following external kits at aliexpress.com 1. CAREUD U902 2. CAREUD U903 3. CAREUD U912 902 and 903 also display battery voltage All are using professional proven 433 Mhz freescale sensors chips. I like to have sensors with metal gas nozzles, need to sort this out and will order this week Rob Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I installed a non-Bluetooth system in my 2004 360. This the third system in my car. The first two system displayed though my infotainment reverse camera. One failure, changed it out some 18 months later. Had to change out the sensors inside the tire/wheel. Read “pain in the ass”. Second unit failed. TPMS signal doesn’t switch from reverse camera to TPMS in the infotainment system. Third system has a separate display that fit into the in my left hand switch panel where the sport switch. Calibration seems a bit sketchy. I’m good to check to see if there is a calibration mode.
Hi , These failures examples is exactly why I started this threat. Can you share the brand/model name of the third system? Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
