    Likewise - but I need that warning. I've smacked a solenoid with a hammer before when it was stuck. I need to know if I can or not.

    Why would you not have it rebuild. That had to cost a small fortune.

    Your car? They said a new unit from Bosch was installed. Hard to believe it was $300.00 new. Regardless, I've had starters rebuilt for less than half that and they were like new. Last one was for my Boxer and the place is within 15 mins of their shop.
