My 575 sounded much better with the Bradan resonator delete pipes. Then I switched the vacuum hoses so the cans are open all the time. Still to quiet for me. Going to pull the cans and put on Tubi rear straight pipes I picked up used before spring drive. I think this will do it for me but if not high flow cats are next. GTS Bruce
Bruce- If you want loud, Novitec Supersports will do it. Too loud for me, so I sold them. You can get it as loud as you want without fiddling with the cats.
Thanks Taz! I welded them on a turn table so I was able to get a nice bead going without stopping. It's not a major difference but gives the car some grunt.
Hey guys , I have a resonator from my 2002 575m # 129068 , sitting in a braden box in my basement if anyone needs one ? will sell for a resonable offer plus shipping
I have someone that was looking for a used set a few months ago, I will point them your way. Did you see your 575 came up for sale at BMW dealer recently?
The straight pipes with the resonator deletes certainly wakes everything up Bruce. Interestingly, I ran the central resonator with the Tubis and it was too quiet. The resonator does provide a lot of sound attenuation. Dan, does the removal of the resonator have any impact on the dyno? Philip
Philip, On the 550/575 we saw 17-25 hp on average from resonator delete pipes. We have not ran a 456 before and after yet.
When the weather clears up locally. Sound videos in a warehouse make a prius sound like a big block chevy.
That's interesting, Dan, thanks for sharing. My SOTP said removing the resonator improved performance but you never know when it's accompanied by more noise whether it is just the increase in noise volume that's fooling the senses. I believe one firm claimed that modifying the headers was worth a lot (60-75?). Any view on this? Philip
