    While you are the king and have a great forum, you may want to think twice about trying to make someone like peterS (who has given generously in the name of F-chat) your lapdog in public.

    You are running a business - perhaps you could have:

    a) given him a call
    b) PM'd him requesting a call.

    In addition, to call him names was at odds with your own forum guidelines. e.g. when you said "you are such a dip****".

    To issue an public ultimatum to "call me by 10:00 or you are gone" is over the top. As a business owner, one often has to check his / her ego.

    peters was good for this community.

    Why demand publicly that he call you? Just reinstate him - no need for the power trip. :) IMHO

    Yeh I agree he she come back. Im a bit of a noob around these forums but I did enjoy reading his posts. They were always insightfull into his industry and I know I learnt alot (mainly in the B&I section).

    I never knew who he was... I still don't know who he is, why he was banned, or anything... I don't remember seeing his name, ever, until I heard he was banned.

    Peter S rocks - He didn't even know me & offerred to let me take his carts out with him for a spin at buttonwillow. It was great fun & happenned only because of Peters generousity & F-chat. He belongs here!

    Perplexes me the couple users calling for Peter's return like he did nothing wrong and I did.

    We both went AWOL over personal issues. I always preach to other users to take personal issues offline, but when someone flames you in public you are highly motivated to defend and flame back in public too.

    I have no doubt we won't work this out eventually, Peter has an open invitation to talk this over. He can apologize for accusing me of talking behind his back, being the first one to go public with the flames, not getting a joke I made about the paintball thread we were both participating, and sending an out of context email offline to 30 users drumming up support. I will apologize for calling him a "dip ****" and "stupid" for not getting my joke. Names aren't appropriate no matter the case.

    For anyone else that has real feedback for FerrariChat.com in a positive manner, please visit this thread...

    Also, I don't care how much money you have given to this and that in the name of that or this, breaking rules is breaking rules and a troll is a troll. We will enforce the rules on FerrariChat.com without being bought out. I think all users would appreciate it that way.

    Do not know either one personally, not taking either one's side as I am actually on Rob's short list also.

    Just my 2 cents:
    I have caught several posts by PeterS, in the Business and Investment section, the attitude was always negative and ******* like.
    Don't know much about his battle with Rob, but when Rob invited him to PM or call to talk about it, Peter's response was something along the line of "You must be stupid if you want to ban me because I have been and will buy lots of shiet from sponsors on your site". No offense but one owns the site he does not need to put up with BS like that.

    Everyone on this site has supporters, so its fine if you guys want to defend him, just want to toss in my 2 cents too.

    In general I think it's a good idea for people to step back and take a breather every once and a while. If someone is being abrasive to the community(or just not following the flow) I think it's a sign of some other personal issues. Hopefully if they take a break they can sort it out and come back positive and fresh. And, if they decide to move on it's better for everyone.

    1. This is Rob's site. It is his business alone, and ultimately he has to make decisions based on that. No one else here has that same perspective with respect to the decision-making process. We are all here to goof off at work or learn a little. For him it is another job.

    2. Everyone knew Rob was getting sick of all the BS going on, and made this clear. Whether you Rossa Subscribe, buy from sponsors, donate money...BS is BS.

    3. And finally, he gave PeterS an easy way out with a simple PM. Did he respond correctly, or even ignore Rob's request? No! Instead he posts this...
    Basically double-dog daring Rob to ban or delete him.

    Ask yourself--if you were in Rob's shoes at that point--what you would have done.

    When it comes right down to it, the only individual who is critical to the success of the forum is one guy - Rob. It's silly for ANY user to think they would have a major impact on the longevity/viability of the site if they left. And IMO it's silly for any user to puff their feathers and square off with the site owner. It's only going to end one way. If someone feels the place is run unfairly or isn't what they want, why not either go elsewhere or start your own forum according to your own ideals? I've seen that happen and it usually doesn't go over as well as intented, and the new site owner starts to see the problems of the old site *real* quick.

    This happened on a couple of other forums I was on. Bottom line is what is the real reason for the site? For some, it may be camaraderie and sense of community... but ultimately it's for the Ferrari part of it. The site will grow because it's the biggest of it's kind for Ferraris, and even if the top 20 posters were axed tomorrow, it would not have a marked effect on how many people actually came to the site.

    Rob understands this. I don't think Peter does. People let things get to them WAY too much. I think people let this site and their 'rank' and standing on it get to be much too big a part of their lives. There are 18000 users, not every one of them can have the site the way we want it. That means the we need to deal with how it is an accept it, or leave. Or, we can make waves and complain, but it doesn't do any good, never has, and never will.

    I hope Peter comes back - he was a great asset especially to the B&I section and seems like a genuinely nice guy.

    OK, I don't want this to get too far out of balance against Peter. I will take equal responsibility for the flaming and once we have our talk, Peter will be back as he was before. The aftershocks were pretty ugly, but the entire thing started as no big deal...

    1) We were talking about Peter in the mod section, Mark informed me he already talked to Peter and everything was cool. I was cool at that point with Peter.

    2) Peter emails me later...

    3) I respond with sarcastic humor, that he didn't get because I guess he hadn't read my post talking about my paintball background...

    Just all in all started from nothing, he didn't know I was cool with him and thought my response was serious and not trying to be funny.

    We'll talk soon. I know Peter is a good guy already.

    Sweet, too many cool people on this site to let miscommunications get in the way. It's amazing how far two people can let a situation go when something is mis-interpreted. On a side note...I noticed a lot of flaming happening on Fchat last weekend and at the start of the week. People seemed real edgey. But the weird thing is, it was happening in the real world with people I know. A lot of people, including myself were at odds with others...I mean an abnormally amount of fighting...Other people I know too. But at the end of last week and this weekend, everyone I know settled there differences and things calmed down. Strange.
