same passion like me! The 57SC Atlantic is one of the most beautiful cars ever built IMO. I have seen one original in Schwetzingen, Germany at the Concours de Elegance 2001. I did 2 grat shots of the car with digi-cam but I was so stupid to make a power-point-presentation with all the pics and now I only have the pics stored at the ppp. No way to post the pics `cause I can not copy them from the ppp....or do you know a way to post a singel pic from the ppp. Wolfarossa FORZA FERRARI

Bugatti 57 SC Atlantic which gained The Best OF Show of the Concours d'Elégances of Pebble Beach 2003 it is that of Peter D.Williamson, it's the chassis number #57374 and it is indeed blue. See here : http://autos.msn.com/as/pebblebeach2003/article.aspx?xml=BestOfShow2003
Yes, thats the one, I have heard about and saw some pics in the GD section. Bugatti is my passion for vintage cars. I have been many times in the Schlumpf museum and too me its a paradise. ....some close ups I have shot in the past and found on my PC from several events
Bugatti 57 SC Atlantic was manufactured with three specimens and they always exist. It thus has: #57374 which belongs to Dr Peter D.Williamson (USA-Lime-New Hampshire) then, #57591 who belongs to ralph Lauren (USA-New York) and finally #57473 which it belongs to Nicolas Seydoux (France-Paris). A lot of people seems to think that the car owned by Nicolas Seydoux was broken up after it's 1955 accident, when hit by a Renault Diesel train, south of Paris. In fact the car was rebuilt by Paul-André Berson in the late sixties and early seventies. The car was sold to Seydoux arround 1974 and he thought that the doors needed adjustment and wanted the body to be polished, so he sent the car to André Lecoq. Lecoq found that the body needed to be completely restored in order to be solid. Two years later the car was then finally restored and indeed very beautyfull, and it still is! A shame that so many people does not even know that the car still exsists ! Pic of Nicolas Seydoux Atlantic's :
BREATHTAKING!!!!! And what a great story behind. I`m always wondering where you guys got all this insider infos? Owner, Ser#, History, Restauration...a.s.o. Just amazing! Wolfarossa FORZA FERRARI
Did Bugatti Atlantic inspired considerable artists, in particular Paul Bouvot who will decline several versions on the topic of Atlantic, with witness this one which my is preferred... superb not ? Paul Bouvot Web Site : http://www.paul-bouvot.com
Superb in theroy perhaps but the workable version of the Veyron 16V would seem to be a debacle first spinning at Monterey during the Pebble Beach weekend and then a short time later spinning and taking flight in the hands of the chief of the project for VW. Nothing quite like finding out the car is unstable at high speeds in the hands of the boss. Bugatti himself built a 16 cylinder aircraft engine for a WWI airplane but the project was scrapped by Dusenberg as the war ended. The Veyron 16 cylinder actually ran in Bugatti racing cars but unsuccessfully as he could not make the engine reliable and the added power did not compensate for the added weight, heat and there were massive oiling problems. Apparently, even with modern electorincs, the 16 cylinder is a difficult beast as well. With four turbo chargers, cooling the engine is almost impossible and it cooks itself at sustained high speeds. Last I heard, the Veyron 16 cylinder has gone back to the drawing board and the staff in charge of the program were sacked. BHW
