Anyone up for a theme Stooge event? I love racing and tracking. Speedventures will run an exotic car group only if there are enough entrys. It costs a bit more but worth it for people scared of damage. You will only be with exotics no vettes or GTRs. Skill level isn't a problem if you start at freeway speeds and don't let your ego rule the day. The event would be about having fun not being a laptime warrior.

5/12 is on the streets of willow a short tight low speed course great for people scared of too much speed. Many race schools are run here.
5/26 is on the roval at Calspeedway Fontana and you can hit 160mph is a generic Ferrari and really scare yourself. The roval is a big boy track in SoCal.
6/9 is in the Calspeedway parking lot doing an autocross. You won't get out of 2nd gear but it feels fast racing through cones and there is zero damage. Maybe a 70mph top speed in a parking lot.

Years ago a bunch of Ferrari guys met at the calspeedway autocross did a BBQ at the same time and had a blast. Some just came out to watch and some participated in the autocross action. An autocross could be a great way to BS away the day, stuff our faces, and drive Ferraris. If people want more thrill we should go on a big track. Fontana is 1.5 hours away from our normal meeting place.

Another option for a Stooges track-day event is with Open Track Racing. http://www.opentrackracing.com

It's usually one Wednesday every other month on the big track at Willow Springs. I like it best because it's a older, more professional bunch of guys with really nice/expensive cars and a friendly attitude.

And unlike most weekend track day events, that have too many cars with hardly any track time, this event you get plenty of track time on a very "open" track.

In fact, in the afternoon sessions you may have only 4-8 cars on the track, sometimes less. It's a great environment for practicing your track skills. If you're a first timer, it's a great place to learn without getting in anyones way.

Whether your a beginner of and expert, they usually have a pro sitting around that would be happy to ride shotgun and give you some advice. There's no charge.

However, if you think you're really fast, you can run with in the expert group. They do lap times at around 1:20. If you know Willow, you know that that's really, really fast.

The best part is the price... only $175 for the day. And that includes a catered lunch (steak, chicken, salad, side and drink) and a t-shirt!

I've done tons of track day events, and this one is by far the best one for the price.

Since you asked, it is time for Stoogefest in May. Lets sound off for some dates. I am looking at Saturday, May 26th or the 19th.

Let me know what works best for most of us and what you want to work on. I'm pretty much good to go on my car.

My dream stoogapolussa is a Ferrari caravan to go visit Ernie in Indianapolis. We go camp out in his giant forest of a back yard. Swim in his pool and eat food, smoke cigars, and drink beer. We send his wife and a couple of her girlfriends to vegas so she doesn't see the mess we make in her house. Then we do a trackday at Indy motorspeedway before heading home.

    May 19trh is Stoogefest 2018!

It will be the usually chaotic event. Frying turkey, wings and stuff. If you want to dry a turkey, let me know and get here early. The frying will start as close to 9AM as the oil is hot. Sound off on your requested maintenance/repairs. I will open a new thread for this.

Another idea..... we could do "Ferraris and shotguns" .... Triple B is at the 605 and 60 freeway with a big Ferrari safe parking lot. We can do some sporting clays, trap, and skeet. Nothing like horsepower and gunpowder!

You ever try to fit your shotgun in the boot of your Ferrari? Mine won't fit. (Ruger Red Label or Beretta 302).

Why not? Lets do it! It could go fast if you have all the info like the sonic specs for belts if you use those...
