Its not that I need a huge 3000sqft house, but I would definitely like something with a 2 car garage, and a good sized backyard which is in a safe neighbourhood. You can forget about Kleinburg, King City, or Toronto, because all homes in these places are running on average $700,000.

Woodbridge, Brampton, Richmond Hill are great options, because 3000 sq ft homes can still be bought in the 400-500$ range.

The condo market is booming because it is the only affordable alternative, its a new 'home' at a decent price.

Rick, I hope your predicitions are correct, and that there will be a major adjustment in our future. As home prices are right now, its ridiculous....new buyers are being shut out, and people are getting 40 year mortgages with 0$ down payment on a $400,000 house. Thats the main reason why family and quality time are at a minimum, because families are stuck working to pay off their house, car, internet, Plasma TV debt.

I think there is a another reason for car dealerships being closed on Sundays than to take a "day of rest" (which could just as well be a Monday as it is for many other retailers): Less avaliable time for "shopping around" usually means a quicker sale...

B-Mak....what do you think of your lovely city now?

What happened to the 'better way' ??

What a joke....they should fire all TTC bosses, and Mayor Miller. We have people dying of cancer, we have homelesness, we have drug addicts and mental patients waiting for hospital beds.....yet our biggest problem is paying the bus drivers $35 an hour???????????

Gimme a f**ckin break! The TTC employees are morons, they are probably at home (not striking) on the couch still collecting a paycheque for doing nothing this weekend.

Lucas, you are right. Toronto is now toast. No TTC means Toronto is nothing. We really had nothing else going for us whatsoever.

    There, you've won! ;)

wow - I think this is the 2nd time I agree with you this year Red!

The quality Gen-Y kids out there aren't accepting 8am-8pm work days M-F, and it's shaking up a lot of big companies. In our case, everyone is working very very flexible work schedules, to fit whatever habits and relationships they have: family, hobbies, cities, whatever. Where Technology can burn, it can also help.

Some of the big companies are getting it, but not many. 7x24 is a reality, but it can be used to our benefit.

Vasco, I like Toronto as much as you do, but there are so many stupid issues which are not being resolved. Yes, Toronto is a fantastic city with a high quality of life, but there are many underlying problems which are not being fixed.

The TTC is a joke. We have a system which hasn't upgraded in 30 years, (there has been no subway expansion in a quarter century except for the SRT line). Yet the city has grown by 1 million people in the last 15 years. The drivers and union are sucking the life and money out of the TTC, and us taxpayers are the ones that are suffering.

By the way the off topic thread is still here just "un-stuck". I have decided to stick a couple of coming events as requested by the organisers. Every year I get reamed about too many stickies. So there :) Took off a couple, added another couple.

It's was crazy during that nice weather we had. This week was a write off. However, in general there are still tonnes of people out and about on the weekends.

    What the heck?

Since when did FerrariChat become Facebook?

I just checked my profile page, and was surprised to find out that the whole format has changed to "Facebook Style".

    When did this happen?

    Does anybody know this guy?

How the heck does a 49yr old guy from Toronto get to drive in the Indy 500?

How come no one has ever heard of him?
