Hey guys currently having a bit of trouble getting my 458 spider insured as I used to insure it through Hagerty with all my other cars but was dropped due to windshield claims for my other vehicles. Currently have not been able to find another company that will insure me despite my only claims ever being for windshields as a result of living in Arizona even though I now live in Ilinois. Any help would be very appreciated, thanks!

Um, just call geico, State Farm, Allstate or progressive… they all insure with no problem.

Yikes. Ya Allstate was highest I checked too but not that high. My State Farm is $195/mo for 100k/300k coverage on my F8. My Audi is 225/mo lol.

The vehicle cost, surprisingly has little to do with insurance rates. The top factors are:

    1. Zip code where you live/garage
    2. Credit score
    3. Driving history
    4. Safety rating of the vehicle
    5. How many miles/yr you drive it and its use (work commute, pleasure etc)

…. And things like multi-car and multi-line discounts help also.

The price of the actual car is a pretty small factor unless you are trying to insure for a stated value.

Call me 908-397-4514; I own an insurance agency and a 2013 458 Spider. Depending on your state I can probably get you coverage.

Thanks. I just added windshield coverage to my policy not long ago ($5 per car, per year). I've only had two cracked windshields in the past decade.

I always figured Ferrari coverage was so reasonable as well because there aren't a lot of people filing claims on them because a lot aren't driven often at all.

Wow !1 I had to replace 1 in my 328 over 25 years 105,000 miles. I have American Modern Insurance on my 328, maybe give them a try.

But if it’s totaled, are they giving you what your F8 is worth? That was the problem I had with everyone but Hagerty.

I would assume anyone who insures a Ferrari does it with an agreed value policy, my 328 is insured for 150,000 agreed value.

I do not insure them with agreed value. I hope I never have to find out how much they'd give me if totaled.

Im curious to find out why not ? I do agree with you about hoping to never have to find out . I dont trust insurance companies at all for the most part. I have all my bikes insured with progressive, they have been outstanding as far as taking care of me when **** happens. I have had my 328 insured with agreed value for many years.

Not only totaled but also stolen needs to be considered.

Because of the MUCH lower cost of getting them insured by the same company that we insure everything with. Plus there are NO restrictions, very little chance it gets cancelled.

Also, because I am a great (insert lucky)) picker of cars, I don’t have to get top dollar on a total since I’m in them so cheaply, just like you and your 328.

If I had to replace my 328, which is completely mint, and with what I have done to maintain / restore it over the last almost 25 years, I would have to spend at least 150,000. So for me its worth an agreed value policy, which by the way is very reasonable as far as the cost goes. Im not worried about me, Im worried about some dumb prick who totals my Ferrari.

That’s cool, you are more emotionally invested in your car than I am in mine. I have had my Lamborghini Diablo Roadster for a decade, paid $120k, and they routinely sell for $400k+. I have spent about $70k on maintenance but that is just for the fun of owning it.

So I’m way ahead regardless, why bother paying a lot more and having to put up with restrictions?

Actually, I’ve never even considered it, thought about it or investigated it. No idea. Pretty sure a company like State Farm will give me market value if something happened but who knows.

You've been letting my wife drive your car. I have once had a windshield replaced 10 years ago on my mini. She had 2 replaced on her Macan in 10 months this last year. I don't know how....

This is spot on. Agreed value coverage a must.
