Looking to acquire a 355 carbon fiber intake for a 1996-1999 F355 for a reasonable price. Will pay cash or trade Ferrari system (pristine condition) for aftermarket system (such as Gruppe M)

Please PM me if you have one available.

    Thanks.

I have one in carbon-kevlar (black and yellow composite).

    Brand new. Never installed.

    $2800. That's what I paid.

We can meet up in Beverly Hills if you wish.

Do you still have the intake?
Do you have any pictures for your intake?
Can you ship it to Hong Kong too?

I like the idea and the concept, but have a hard time with the mismatch of the modern carbon fiber look with the old school look of the 355 engine bay. Really wish these were made of something else, or.....

Is carbon fiber part of the power gain, heat deflection, or is this just the choice for aesthetics? Guessing these could be sanding and painted a matte black to match the rest of the engine bay?

Weight reduction and heat protection. Fiberglass would also suffice, but some prefer carbon.

So, aluminum is a bad idea? Why did you sell yours?

    Aluminum transfers heat.

It wasn't mine to begin with. Was selling for a friend and was for a 5.2. I have 2.7 and I do have a GruppeM intake for that.

There was a thread with someone talking about a gold reflective heat shield? Anyone remember?

Ken, does the intake take the place of the factory exhaust shield? Or does it go on top of it?

You have to remove the intake shield. The GruppeM kit comes with its own shields.
