Carbonio is proud to announce their extended carbon fiber shift paddles for all models of Ferrari 458. Those familiar with the ones we offer for the 360, 430, and 575 models know that they totally transform the driving experience making shifts on both the road and track easier and with greater flexibility and precision. Once you try them you can never go back to stock.

The 458 paddles are the product of our direct technical partnership with the championship winning AIM Autosport racing team and were used at the 24 Hours of Daytona where they scored a front row qualification and podium result. Feedback returned from the drivers refined their shape to the present configuration and endless kilometers road testing have yielded our best paddles ever.

See many more photos and full information at our website with a video showing their advantages:

I had Carbonio extended carbon fibre paddles on my 430 Scuderia and they were just fantastic to use. I've been waiting for these to be available for the Speciale :)

Excuse my ignorance but not heard of this company before and looking at the prices for the carbon engine bay (458 Spec) on their web-site they look much cheaper than Novitec / Scuderia Systems, is the quality the same? Very interested to hear anyone's results buying similar product..

Here are the standard 458 gearshift paddles (pic 1)
and the 458 Challenge extended paddles (pic 2)

The Carbonio paddles are longer than both of these.

I had the Carbonio paddles on my old 430 Scuderia and they were fantastic to use. When you have a lot of lock applied in a tight turn you can still reach the paddles to change gears whereas you have nothing but air to grab with the standard set up.

I have ordered a set of the Carbonio paddles for my 458 Speciale.

In my experience the quality is at least equivalent to Ferrari OEM, probably a bit better if anything. I have Capristo carbon fibre engine panels in my Speciale, quality is pretty good; but fit wasn't as good as I had hoped. One mounting point on each panel had to be slightly modified, no big deal; but could have been better.
I have some Novitec carbon fibre bits for my Speciale as well, quality is good; but some parts are mean't to be glued over the standard part. Really defeats the purpose of using carbon fibre in the first place; but they look great.

Thanks for that, was looking at going down Capristo/Novitec route for the engine panels (didn't order factory as the Scud panels were so poor) but looking at Carbonio web-site the full kit ++ is about half the price.......

The factory Scuderia stuff really was pretty rough for some reason. I think you will be happy with the Carbonio product.

In Australia we get slugged $13500 for the OEM factory carbon fibre engine panels. Needless to say I went aftermarket !

Hey guys here is a quick iPhone photo showing the differences between stock and our extended paddles. As you will see they are a little taller on the top and a LOT longer on the bottom. We just installed a set on a customers car and after a short drive he exclaimed that his car was 'un-drivable' by comparison. Perhaps a little exuberance was in his comment but suffice to say that it makes a BIG positive difference to the shifting experience.

While we have been a bit of a fixture in other areas of Ferrarichat we are new to the 458 crowd so perhaps an introduction is in order. Carbonio is a specialist carbon fiber manufacturer that primarily services the automotive, sporting goods, aviation, and medical industries as a private-label supplier. We supply directly to several OEM's and employ the processes required by these demanding customers.

The Carbonio consumer product arm, of which the Ferrari parts are central, are the extension of the company principals' interests who are dyed in the wool car enthusiasts. As such we are able to employ manufacturing techniques normally reserved for higher volume production to achieve quality and price levels that are generally unmatched in the industry.

Unlike other vendors who merely re-sell someone else's product (advertising with little more than a single un-installed product photo) we are intimately involved in the design, manufacture, and testing of each of our products before a single item is ever sold. We never rely on our customers to be the first adopters of a product without first having personally fit and tested it. As such we are able to offer professional studio, and installed photos, comprehensive installation instructions, and post sales support manned by people with first hand experience.

I hope this has acted as a suitable introduction and in an effort to keep this thread on subject urge anyone to contact our offices or PM us for any more information.

What you are seeing in that photo are the OEM Ferrari die cast aluminum paddles that are fitted to the 360 and 430 Challenge cars and the finish you are referring to is a painted finish rather than the CF paddles that show the carbon cloth. BTW if you can get these from Ferrari they cost $2K just for the aluminum paddles!

Ferrari does not make a extended paddle for the 458 like the ones shown in the photo you referenced and you can be sure that if they did they would cost many times more than the ones we offer :)

As indicated the Challenge version are painted aluminium. Here is a comparison of the length of the Carbonio paddles vs the Challenge paddles, the Carbonio paddles are longer.

Installing these was one of those very rare Ferrari jobs where it went way faster and easier than was expected.
When you read the 458 workshop manual it suggests that the airbag encrusted steering wheel has to be taken off before you can get to the gear change paddles and after inspecting the car I was of the same opinion. The Carbonio kit comes with instructions and a very long and thin allen key tool that allows you to get them off without removing the wheel.
The instructions suggested the job time would be twenty minutes; but I had them replaced in under half that.

These pics show why the extended paddles are a must have in a road Ferrari for me.
Pic 1- Lock available with which you can change gears using standard length paddles
Pic 2- Lock available with which you can change gears using the Carbonio extended length paddles.

The advantage is the ability to change gears without moving your hands around the wheel when you are hammering along in very tight terrain like a mountain range with tight hairpin curves. With the standard paddles I find myself trying to change gears into and out of a hairpin bend and finding nothing but air as the lock is wound on and off. No such problems with the Carbonio paddles

I got the full engine bay CF sections from Capristo USA and they look amazing. They fit without any modifications. I highly recommend them and Erik who provided stellar customer service.

We're glad to hear that you like our paddles. Thank you for the great photos. And you're right, you don't need to remove the steering wheel to change the paddles. The installation can be done in under 20 minutes and they look and function incredibly well.

Would it be possible to get the paddles in dry (mat) carbon finish?
    Many thanks, w

Unfortunately, we do not offer our Challenge Shift Paddles in matte finish.

Our paddles are a match to Ferrari's carbon trim package and the only way to do that is with a polished glossy finish.
