Wow im very surprised they went gt3 motor. Almost same price too. I get gt3 if want a stick but this is better than a pdk gt3. And I bet faster lap times than z06 despite same tires, 200 less hp, 500 less lbs. Peak drivers porsche but in few yrs base ev cayman will be as fast. Out door w adm, will cost 250k which is pretty crazy

Why would someone pick clubsport over a challenge ferrari, say 458c?

Less running costs? More parts availability and modification? More events put on by Porsche than Ferrari?

Really? Why? Assuming track days and not race series.

Axle rebuilds, hub rebuilds, bearings, transmission refresh, engine refresh/rebuild...all of these will be exponentially more expensive (and much more frequent) in a 458 Challenge than in the Clubsport.

Just having a PDK will save you tens of thousands of dollars.

wow i knew some people who tracked retired challenge 430/458 and never said upkeep was unreasonable. porsche would seem be comparable but i have no real experience.

I believe this car will be eligible to run in current GT4 based series (IMSA, SRO, etc). 458c would have to run in SVRA, HSR or something like that. Guess it depends if you are looking to do track days or door to door semi-professional racing.

Nothing but respect for how Porsche is improving their cars year over year. That said... I wonder if the Cayman GT4 (RS) suffers from the same problem the new GT3 has - being incredibly good but somehow significantly less emotional than it's predecessor(s).

Also, I wonder how long people will have to wait for these ones to appear on their driveway. My GT3 was delayed for several months; I finally took delivery of my car in September and still don't have a spare key "due to the chip shortage"...

This is NOT what I have been hearing from numerous 992 GT3 owners who also own (or who previously owned) a 991 GT3(RS). Sure they all loved the 991 GT3(RS) but they also seem to mostly agree that the new 992 GT3 is a very involving and fun to drive. Some have even commented that the 992 version is even better (i.e., feels faster and more involving) at lower speeds thus making it a better car for driving on public roads.

Video embargo over today and all reviews predictably call it perfect, best Porsche ever, best car ever, etc. British and American agree. One said worth 100k adm near 300k. No surprises here yet. Will win every car of year test.

Waiting for comparison tests and lap times. Vs gt3, z06, etc. Love to see someone compare it to speciale.

one of the best cars ever made imo, a real last blast before they go electric

one of the hardest cars ever to get hold of too

can see these going for £300-400k

Only problem with this is that I bet most of these go under car covers instead of on the track.

Of all the brand's, Porsche is most likely to have special models get used as intended. Will see some of these on track. I would prefer a Cayman track only cs instead but that's just me
