Anyone know of someone in the DFW area who can ceramic coat an exhaust header? Jerry is looking for someone to coat the one on the Lancia race car.

The newer style cats (As compared to the bead type in the 70's) use a ceramic extruded honey comb grid will crack when running lean, causing it to overheat. This is why it broke inside. Intake air leak, vacuum leak, restricted injector(s), low fuel pressure, incorrect "Tuner" programming, etc. will all cause the exhaust to get extremely hot. The cat cannot expand enough and cracks, worse case; rattles, chunks turn side ways and blocks exhaust flow, increases back-pressure and will not pass emissions testing. With a pre-O2 sensor and post-O2 sensor, will turn the CEL/MIL on once per second. That is a condition that threatens the cat. Yes...He said "Pass Gas".
