    Overfill = excess oil. Possible to suck into the intakes, lots of blue smoke up to worst case, damaged cats or hydro lock.

    If you track the car, it is normal for most to run closer to the lower mark when hot.

    I have a tip that seems to work... Get the engine/oil up to full temp driving around. stop and shut off the engine for about three minutes. Restart engine and allow to just idle. Using a glove or rag, unscrew oil fill cap, the oil should have little or no foam (trapped air from driving has had time to settle down). Wipe dip stick and just set on top edge of filler neck (do not screw cap) Remove cap and observe oil level.

    Yup, tried that too, it was overfilled.
