There's a comparison of the 599HGTE and the LF-A http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/comparisons/10q4/2011_ferrari_599_hgte_vs._2012_lexus_lfa-comparison_tests There's also the Top Gear review [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tFPF6M5PLo[/ame] Only can mention what I read, I haven't driven the LF-A. It's a great achievement for Lexus, yes, but does it blow others out of the water? It doesn't seem to.
I believe so. Here's a video: http://www.wgntv.com/videobeta/676c9705-32ed-442d-b975-84c2f0bec369/News/Half-million-dollar-Lexus-in-South-Suburbs
I parked right by her this summer, pesky Lexuses always getting in the way Image Unavailable, Please Login
NICE! Oh, and that man bought that car! So luckyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. And he took his own delivery LOOL
Who will be next to enter the supercar market to advertise their lack of racing achievments?? This thing is very generic for such a high end sportscar. It looks more like a mid range rice rocket than a supercar. Toyota blew it on the styling. It's really to bad Ferrari and Lamborghini don't have a booth next to Lexus to put this cars boring styling to shame. Tom Tanner/Ferrari Expo 2011-Chicago March 19th 2011
Someone will. There is always someone that wants the first and only "thing". This is it. If only one or two were made, they would sell. For $500K, there are other better cars out there IMO.
IMO?? And someone bought it LOL. They bought it in that video that someone posted above. only one or two were made, they would sell. For $500K, there are other better cars out there IMO. Also, they should've put a Lambo thing there. Last year they had Lambo, Loutus, Fisker, Maserati, and some more Ferrari's. I don't get it. The economy was worse last year, so why don't they have even MORE cars?! I wanted to take more videos of the exotic cars! I was pretty much the only person taking a video of the R8. I just walked up to the car and filmed! Everyone else just stood and took pics LOL. But then again, I did that with all the other cars, too. And there were no Vipers! I mean, IK they're ending production for a few years, but still! They had them last year. I was excited to go and see even more exotics this year and film them, but I was sadly dissappointed. Oh well. Did anyone else go?
I know one sold. Like I said, some people want the to be the first. However, selling 500? We will see. BTW, the rear end to me looks like they were looking at the Gallardo for ideas.
Well, the article has only this for real hard facts: On the drag strip, the LFA was quick, although considerably cheaper cars such as the Porsche 911 Turbo S and the 458 Italia can outrun it. We recorded 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds, two tenths swifter than the Ferrari and a tenth quicker than an LFA we tested out West earlier this year (which could be attributed to this example having launch control). Up to 130 mph, the Lexus was quicker than the Ferrari, at which point the 599s extra 59 horses propel it past the LFA. Through the quarter-mile, the Lexus ran 11.7 seconds, a tenth quicker than the Ferrari, with an identical 125-mph trap speed. On the skidpad, the LFA recorded 0.98 g (versus the Modenese 0.93 g) but took 164 feet to stop from 70 mph to zero, eight feet longer than the 599. Notice that the 458 is 1/10 faster to 60 mph, I wouldn't call that "running laps around the LF-A". As for the rest of the test the LF-A beats the 599 on a couple of occasions. Again not what I call "running laps...". I've seen the TopGear video, which is fun as always, but doesn't tell you hell of a lot.
Yeah. If I had the money I'd buy it!! And the Gallardo, whatever. I'll take 'em both. My friends don't like this car, though
LOL! All I wanted to know was who was going and if there was going to be any exotics on display this year? Instead we have like 3 convos going about the LFA running laps around people and I'm bored of Ferrari and the Lingenfelter's look good this year and who parked all these Lexus's around me. Perhaps I should just ask do they have the lemonade and churros stands this year ? God Bless F-Chat
Agreed. If I'm buying a new ca for $500k it's going to have a prancing horse on the fender and GTO on the back. I'm sure there are enough Toyota homers to fill the production run but I'm not an LF-A fan.
Here some pics from my visit. It is true, that each year there are less cars so it wasn't too much of a surprise that it took only 40 minutes to make it through the entire show. And that included taking pictures, test sitting some cars, talking to a salesman and filling out some forms. I've never been to the Chicago show... but judging by the few pictures I've seen here, you guys really need to check out NAIAS to see a proper show Did anybody talk to the LPE guys?
Oh if you only could remember the excess of the entire industry in 2000-2004! Still, based on the photos, Chicago is a 2nd Tier. At least it still gets 1st time unveilings By no means am I suggesting the show is bad, or not worth going to hahaha, the same thing happened at SEMA a few years ago, with another pro Football team
Can't post my pics but here's a link to my flickr that has the ones worth posting. Not sure how it took some of you so little time to get through. I took less pictures than normal and it still took me ~4 hours. http://www.flickr.com/photos/kdunsky/sets/72157625939024393/
Specifically I was referring to the Gallery event NAIAS hosted back in 08. Neither Chicago or Detroit's do much for me anymore though.
I went opening day. Not quite as many exotics compared to the last time I went. IMO the best car there was the blue Porsche speedster. This year it took me only four hours!! Normally, it's like six hours, but I had to film the cars, take pictures, and pretend I'm old enough to drive the cars
Did anyone ride in the VOLT?! I did! And here's my latest video!!! [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sb4CtIvLlqQ[/ame]
