Ok, so the detoour route was thrown out the door because we were running insanely late, but BUT... it was a hell of a trip.

The best part was being in the lead and having all the F-cars catch up. With the exhausts blaring on either side as they passed with full EC stickers and the top down (Thanks AGAIN Noto!) -- it was a really fun moment.

No fear with a CT State Trooper in your car... 120 on the Williamsburgh Bridge. :)

This raises a thought... you know how the Metro Traffic and Weather channel shows the live traffic flow on the LIE every 10 minutes? I could hear the reporter now..." the westbound traffic is moving away from us on the right side of the screen.... no apparent delays...... WHAT THE F--- WAS THAT?"

Yeah, when we were at Brad's after the run a traffic report came on showing flow on the LIE and so forth. Almost surprising there was no mention of confused motorists left in clouds of HOV lane debris after a dozen cars sailed through at 120... we also noticed where they had a camera set up on the report and thought about going back out to try to get in it! instead we went for food, though.

Thanks guys.... now you're all gonna go out ,sell your cars and "upgrade" to Mondials and then the prices will start climbing (Sam, the secret is out!).... ;) Really though, it was a fun run for the short time I was with all of you. That one road (CR51) is almost always empty and is a popular drag spot for many of the locals.

no doubt about it - CR51 is a great road. And I was amazed how many times I looked forward while we were moving at speed to see that the Mondial was still leading the pack! FwWeERRFF! Only when we got near the turn-off did I decide to run out ahead... at which point you all deserted me!

I actually just went for a quick run out on 51 about an hour ago to check out a "shimmy" I felt in my car yesterday when I went over 100. I never had it before so I was holding back a bit. I just took it to 120 and felt nothing, but I think its new tires time for me anyway.

sup playas! just wanna say the run yesterday was awesome!
good idea taking the LIE all the way, we did not stay under 120 much, everyone seems like they are running for their lives, no one wanted to stay in behind lol. i was pretty sure cops will be waiting for us at some point but no we got lucky. got mad new rock chips in the front thanks to those crap u playas picked up while going in/out of HOV lane.
on the way back it was equally exciting. thanks ed for leading the way, in the beginning when the road was rouch i was wondering why we were going that way. but when the paved part came, everyone just TOOK OFF!

great time overall, thx to all that came out yesterday!

Got home yesterday and couldn't believe the brake dust on the front wheels of the 308. One of my sons noticed and was like "Dad where the hell were you?" We have a secret now.

Thanks to the EC crew for slowing down enough for me to join up. It was a great run out to the winery and an even better one on the way back. I really must write a letter to the NYS DOT to complain about their poorly maintained HOV lane. There was way too much sand on the road !

Five lanes of Ferraris screaming through traffic at over 120. They say you can outrun a police car but not a Motorola - well the EC playas shot that down yesterday.

    Emil,

    Got that right.

Kids are such a pain, they don't like my friends and always want to know where I'm going.
