    Well, in all fairness, "italiancars" comment included "the perception", which I would assume being meaningful to those who don't know how nor wish to do their own "homework".
    You know, kind of like "OK, this is a factory CPO (used) car, so it's all good (& better than anything else out there), right ?"

    Thank you, everyone seemed to skip over the word “perception”. As I stated it doesn’t matter if you can get a better restoration elsewhere, it is a “perception” that a factory is restoration is better.

    That is why I asked "by whom?". People who are ready to spend the money to buy these cars usually don't just trust their initial perception.

    I think 'factory' restorations affect the "perception" of market value a lot more than they affect the perception of restoration quality. I would wager an appearance and award at a good concours show has a bigger effect on that perception of quality than simply the fact that the car was restored by the factory.
