If it is anything like the E series it is not super strong. I pushed mine down by hand to unhook it. You could notch a piece of wood and use that to push it down.
If you have someone push in on the clutch pedal, that will relieve most of the tension on the spring. Then just use your hands to compress it a bit and remove...
