I remember a ways back there was some discussion about a system that uses a Samsung Tablet (and yes I tried searching and checking all the sponsors to see who sold it). Since at the time I did not expect to own another Ferrari, I did not pay attention to it. If I remember correctly it was ever able to do things that the much more expensive (and better known units) can do. If it is not being sold by a sponsor, I am fine with getting a PM about it. Thanks

It's not a sponsor but you are talking about x431 Pro from launch.

It's a Univeral tool for many makes. My guess is the Chineese copied everyone 's software.

The proper tool for Ferrari is factory SD1, SD2, SD3, or SDX

A side note ..if you want ...one day we should compare the tool you got (sd3 right)? and the x431 on a 430 and see what is missing ..I know it will be a number of items but very curious what they are

I know off the top of my head ..all functions to do with e-diff including bleeding

By any chance is there a one or 2 page grid of the functions (even screen shots)

I have a thread in the 355 section with a bunch of SD2 screen shots along with a few YouTube videos. I will have the X431 running in a couple days.

Flattering but many guys know the 355 well. Yes, Jim (INTMD8) is a great guy and super knowledgeable.

I am sure you know this but I believe the x431 has almost no coverage for 355 ..really starts from 360 on ..but from the 430 on it look like the coverage is quit nice ....

Not sure what type of car you would be comparing on

X431 like Autel, Auto Inguity, etc rely on OBDII. For 355's 96 onward, some coverage my be present. But, aside from engine and trans ECU's, all others require a connection to the individual ECU via ALDL connectors which these systems won't do yet they have software for and hence evidence they are copying factory software.

I obtained this tool for my Maserati and other light functions. I'll use my SD2 for other stuff.

I see that the Pro 3 is the current model. Not easy to get information from them. I am trying to figure out if you need to purchase anything else for it to work with a Ferrari.

X431 V Pro appears to be a reasonably priced tool. Shows software support for Ferrari. Is the tool only diagnostic capable or can codes be reset? Clutch PIS etc? Great tool for a DIYer if code adjustment capable.

I played with this tool for the first time yesterday on my Maserati. Pretty cool. I was playing with the instrument cluster module - I can independently turn on / off every dash warning light such as low fuel, airbag, etc.

The coverage starts at 360 from what I'm seeing but I recall in the past it had 348/355 software. I've question it and awaiting a reply. But, for a 355, only OBDII cars will have any coverage and it will be limited to engine ECU and TCU as I verified those are the only ones accessible via OBDII socket.

So, to run the F1 bleed function in a 98 you can’t do it through them the OBD2 ?
Must connect to one of the little sockets ?

No, you can access the complete TCU via OBDII socket, assuming it's connected to the can line behind the driver's seat. If not, you just need to connect it. See my SD2 thread and you will see what I mean.

So, my 2008 Maserati GT had a TPMS malfunction. I read and documented the faults then cleared them. Started car and it's gone. It may return.

This seems like a powerful tool but keep in mind - no support and you will get faults codes that you wont know what they mean. Be prepared for a steep learning curve.

Here is a super quick and sloppy video:
