    Hi

I have F1 GTS Im considering to convert the car to manual stick gear. I think keep the F1 parts in case one day will sell the car then can convert it back to F1.

Is there any negative if I get the car convert to manual from F1?

Also what parts do I need if will get it done right

No disrespect to my buddy Ken (who was a hugely helpful source of info and tips when I did my conversion) but there's a lot more to it than the video. Pedal box, routing the clutch line, wiring harness removal, several other things. I'll have a thread up soon. The video is a great overview and I referenced it a bunch of times.

Considering the parts are unobtanium, you should sell him your spare sets and make his life easier. Maybe someone should've told him manual conversion parts are unobtanium before he bought the car.

Virtually everything needed is located in the service guide on tables 25 (Clutch release control and pedal support) and 35 (Outside gearbox controls). Understanding the most efficient approach (purchase new, used or pattern, fabricate, etc.) to obtaining the parts is the most difficult part IMO. If an owner is interested in doing the work one day, it is best to get started acquiring the parts now before they are NLA. At that point, the only route is via a company who fabricates everything from scratch.

What a great video looks like after installing the pedal box most of the other stuff is not that hard to do

I think it’s well worth doing anyway but knowing you can go back to the f1 if you want is nice option

That pedal box won't work, it's for the early 355. The late (Bosch ABS) pedal box is basically impossible to find since there were so few manual '98-'99 355's made. The good news is that there are a few parts you can scavenge from it to make your pedal box. I will try to post on how to do this today.

I would buy the shift gate and knob from Hill Engineering, the factory gate is impossible to find.

It depends on how much you're supposed to pay for it :) If it's a lot of money, I would pass. But there are parts on it you'll need, specifically the clutch pedal arm, the pedal stop/clutch MC actuator arm (it's one piece), one return spring, the pedal covers, and the clutch MC. So it's got a bunch of valuable parts. I bought a complete pedal box to scavenge parts for like $250, but that was a very good deal. I wouldn't pay $1,500 for a pedal box but for around $500 it's probably worth it.

You're going to cut the clutch arm and pedal stop/MC actuator off the donor pedal box and weld them in the correct places on your F1 pedal box. The F1 brake pedal is welded on a shaft that is identical to the manual shaft, except it doesn't have the clutch arm and MC actuator.
