You see the point is not whoever he is a fan of and whatever he thinks of other drivers. The problem is that he is - and he has declared that much - on a mission to convince this board of his opinions. He does that in an arrogant and often insulting manner. And then the bottom line is that there is barely dialogue. Toil proposes his latest pattern on how to re-write history etc but toil never participates in anything that might serve his own learning from this board. In short he is not here to interact, to educate himself, to share with people. He is here to spread his religion. Again, he even said this is his reason for posting. If that is not trolling, then what is? BTW, you still have to eat a broomstick, Mercedes will soon be consequitive WDC and WCC
Right...and you just wasted 3 hours of your life going through all the posts I ever made in attempt to convince the mods of the board to ban me... LOLOLOL. Most of the posts you quoted are clutching at straws. From my 2500 odd posts that was the best you could come up with? Really? You pick up on a thread title of Hamilton having superior race craft? What about the makers of the kimi and massa sucks threads? The few comments you have quoted that are of any merit are from mid 2014 within my first few months here and I no longer make comments like that. Also bear in mind that comments are a mere sound bite without context. I could go through all your posts and find worse but I have a life.
You are not reading what I wrote. It seems and amusing? It is not. But thank you for admitting that I haven't found the true toil posts. They permit debate. Seriously? Also last year you claimed that you were an unbearably arrogant kid - given retrospective - but you (the 2014 you) was cured. Now you say the same about last year? Maybe there is hope and you do reflect. But maybe you could also consider if your 2015 you might still be a difficult companion.
+1 Very apropos link as always. Don't need or want to know who, suffice to say you are nowhere near any kind of troll, but rather a very valued contributor. +1 well said. Exactly what I've been trying to say for ages. I, and I know most, if not all others here are very tolerant of differences of opinion. It's all good. Agreed. And again, I think the majority here are very tolerant of differing viewpoints. We may push pack with a considered argument why we believe they're mistaken, but not the twins...... Unless you believe Hammy is the best driver ever to walk the earth, you're a hater. As Isobel noted, hopefully we'll be back on the road soon. Cheers, Ian
I think that's well understood by all (most anyway) here. But, please explain then how these random gems are not personal insults; And; Seems I got banned, probably correctly, for a *lot* less. Cheers, Ian
OK, thanks. Ancient history now, just wanted to clarify..... Fully understood. Sure as hell 'ignore' worthy though! And only because they don't/won't listen to any counterpoints. Many have tried. We've all failed. Cheers, Ian
It's not a toil witch hunt.... Don't forget Tesla, godspeed33 and a couple of others (even though I suspect they're all the same person)
Neuro checked, they're not. I had forgotten GS33! *He's* how we went from twins to triplets! Cheers, Ian
If you guys ever think there are sock puppets, send me a PM and I'll be happy to do a check. Easy task and instantly ban worthy
I've checked them all (toil, tesla, godspeed33) after a few guys sent me some PMs to request I look into it, and I'm convinced they are not duplicate accounts. IP address was not the only thing I was looking into so a VPN wouldn't have exonerated them if they were the same person on multiple accounts. The only thing they seem to share is similar views on F1. All the best, Andrew.
Hard to believe. Same style, same beliefs, same arrogance, same attacking.... But OK.... If you say so
Which is somewhat alarming in & of itself! Silverstone sold out apparently, and as someone noted, no doubt partly due to the LH effect. I have no problem with the guy, he's a fine jockey, good for him & Silverstone. I think there was still more red than silver in the stands, but he's a 'draw' for sure. It's the triplets that get me down. Cheers, Ian
Andreas, I have to say this post of yours is disappointing. What we currently have is at least 80% x N = "Lewis is God" posts from Toil and Krafty, where N is the total number of posts. That means 80% of posts are utterly pointless, spam if you like. Yes it is freedom of speech, but surely also all other posters have the right to have freedom of content on this site? I've now put them both on ignore and Krafty has been temporarily banned, but I and many others have tried over and over again to get them to understand that everybody acknowledges that Lewis is a good driver but that does not mean every single second of every single race is perfect by him (Lewis). Toil and Krafty are denying our right to discuss ANY practice, qualifying or race because we are NOT permitted a balanced view. How can you as a "moderator advisor" not see this is bad for all others freedom of speech? Pete
I'm afraid that, for the most part anyway, you're misunderstanding the rules here. The moderators are here to protect YOU from attacks, not to protect your favorite drivers from criticism, mockery, insults, wishes of bad luck, being called funny names, or whatever else other users want to say about them. I know you're going to respond by saying that the stuff you posted where he attacked these drivers is cumulative evidence of trolling behavior, but I think you see it that way only because you don't share the same point of view. In this forum, we've seen plenty of hatred aimed at Massa, Vettel, pre-2010 Alonso, and on and on - all acceptable targets according to the majority viewpoint at the time. Whenever someone would dare criticize Schumacher, however, that person would immediately be declared a troll of the first order. While these last three clearly are violations of our rules, they happened nearly a year ago. If he hasn't launched any personal attacks against other users since then, then I don't really see where there's a problem today. No need; as I stated before, we're starting with a clean slate and whatever transpired before is now the past. Going forward, anyone who makes meaningless posts with the sole purpose of starting a dispute or disrupting the peace and harmony of this site will be dealt with as a troll. We've also been discussing the implementation of heavier-handed enforcement of the rules for this particular forum (absolutely no warnings and immediate, lengthy bans). We saw excellent results when we did the same in another forum that had gotten completely out of hand. At this point, however, I'm not really convinced that this is necessary here. It's now clear to everyone posting here that, if they want to continue to enjoy being part of the discussion, they'll have to do their part to maintain harmony in this forum. I'm going to leave this thread open until sometime tomorrow so that everyone has a chance to comment, and then I'll lock it up and we'll move forward.
I agree with that. but how are you going to draw a line in the sand? What you appear to me to be saying is that nothing will change...toil and his friends can say what they want about whatever they think, and the rest of us can respond....and as long as it's not a personal attack, it's fine. Constant debate about a driver and how good he may or may not be is ok. I'm happy with that.....have I got it right?
To be clear, what I'm saying is this: Making meaningless posts with the sole purpose of starting a dispute or disrupting the peace and harmony of this site is TROLLING, it's NOT okay, and it will NOT be tolerated. When fifty other users are allowed to post their support for Vettel or Räikkönen, voicing one's support for Hamilton or any other non-Ferrari driver, in good faith, is not trolling. Of course there's no bright line, because enforcement of the rule requires moderators to determine the user's intent ("with the sole purpose of.."). Just as we do with the other forums here, though, the moderators will discuss suspected trolling behavior and make a concerted judgment call as to whether a user's pattern of behavior constitutes trolling, or whether it's simply good-faith cheerleading for an unpopular viewpoint. Will things change with toil or any other users who've been accused of trolling in this thread? If they've actually been trolling, then things will certainly change. It only takes one click for Rob to pull any user's access to the F1 forum completely and permanently.
