I just looked at marking on the original (Pirelli) and bought I believe from one of the belt/bearing suppliers in the UK. Lamborghini want close to £420 for the belt and its about a £15 part anywhere else - its a standard timing belt - just type this into google (210LP - 100).
Just about to start tuning, she runs OK and the clutch is just so much better ref efforts. Image Unavailable, Please Login
The ac is also holding vacuum which took a bit of fixing with coned copper washers at some of the joints
First job is to ensure all the carbs and linkages are in sync. I found the easiest way is to ensure the first progression hole is just covered and set the hard stop at this point, adjust all the link rods so there is no mismatch and all the carbs should then open and close in sync. Next job is to fire the car up and let it warm through at this point first set the timing, easier if tdc is marked on the pulley in the engine bay. Once timing is set look at the vacuum gauges and adjust where necessary the air by pass screws, past experience has shown generally airflow is matched with little need for by pass screw adjustment. Once all airflows are matched then adjust idle mixture screws this can be a bit a bit trial and error but can be assisted with an exhaust gas analyser which helps get mixture in the ball park. Checking the plug electrode colour also helps to see if lean or rich. I generally start at 2 turns out on the idle adjust screws and adjust in half turn increments.
IMO there is no motor more beautiful than a Countach engine (OK, maybe a Miura ) yours looks truly great! Absolutely love the DD QV though…. Image Unavailable, Please Login
