Tom who ? Tom Jones at Sport Auto perhaps? no sir, i have not asked anyone, as i wont pick up the phone or send an email unless i am serious and have cash in hand. however, i wouldn't mind speaking with him just to see what it takes to get into a car thats a driver and needs love. if he knows of one or two i shall certainly ask him. he was nice enough to let me drive that BB512i at Roebling a year or so ago. what a hoot that was!
I would like to know who also, if we end up selling the S1, I NEED something to replace it with, preferably something cheap that needs work.
Hear hear.... and along with that comes long-term ownership, total restorations executed, and other strange concepts. LOL. Joe www.joesackey.com
I think certain 'benchmark' examples of the classic cars will continue to be coveted head-and-shoulders above everything else. And yes, if we run out of gas, they will still be coveted as a reminder of a bygone golden era in automotive history. The pre-computer cars will therefore always be much more collectible (and simpler). And yes I completely understand why someone sticks a Countach on his wall. My former Periscopa now owned by Christian lived on a Persian rug in a family room of a mansion overlooking Lake Michigan as the owner considered it pure art. So did boaters on the lake who could clearly see the stunning yellow car in the completely glass-fronted house, and would gather to gaze at it. Who are we to dictate what somebody should do with their possesions and/or how they should be used? Lets take a reality check... An injected 2v injected car will be a modified car as done by ACI/Rarewalla. No clue what those bring, but I do know they also bring a host of problems. A factory 4v injected car will be better I think. Joe www,joesackey.com
:-0 I didnt think the word "cheap" could be used in reference to anything regarding the Countach subject matter! Seriously, yesterday I spent time with Zampolli who remembers your Countach fondly from the early days. It would look simply stunning in its original "Blu Acapulco".... Very Best, Joe
What kind of Countach is worth around $80,000? I might jump into one but don't know the value of them all. Thanks for any info.
(shameless plug) - anyone who needs some work done for their cars prior to the Concours show in Monterey (and is based in So. Cal), Claudio Zampolli has some time/space free up between now and August to take on any minor/major projects (will post in Muira thread to). Feel free to PM/email me for more info.
I can testify that this man (who started at the Lamborghini factory in 1967 and worked there till 1974) can tune a carburetted Lamborghini like few can... Joe www.joesackey.com
