When the LP400 was current, Rod Stewart toured Australia and purchased at the Brisbane Motor Show an LP400. This was reported in the press here at the time and his comment was that it was another way of getting money out of the country. Does anyone know which LP 400 this is?
I have the chassis number and will check for it. Few know how passionate this Rock & Roll icon has been about Lamborghini, and he remains a die-hard Lamborghini enthusiast. His first Lamborghini was a Miura S in 1971 (which was allegedly destroyed when it was dropped by a crane...?). This is a list of cars that Rod Stewart has owned over the years, typically keeping just the latest one. I would love to interview him about his love for Lamborghini: Miura S Miura SV (2) Countach LP400 (with Targa roof) Countach LP400S S1 Countach LP5000S Countach LP5000QV (88 1/2) Countach Annivesario (2) Diablo (2) Diablo VT Roadster (2) Diablo SV Murcielago (2) Murcielago Spyder Murcielago LP640 The note showing 2 of certain model is because he would often have an example of the same model kept in both England and in the USA. interesting, Joe just 2 questions was the LP targa a red one (by Markidian) or a black one ? both cars i am talking about had S adds on, wing and bravos could you share VIN of the S1? tks in advance
I will look up the chassis numbers. His LP400 was right-hand-drive and it was red. Not Mardikians'. His LP400S S1 was white with tan and a very early car in fact Im sure it was the first right-hand-drive S1. I will check. Joe www.joesackey.com
Joe, thanks! If I could find the tour dates will get down to the newspaper morgue and get a copy of the article! Very few people seem to believe me on this! Regards, John btw I can remember contemporary reports regarding Britt driving around London in waht I presume to be this car. She would be interesting too, given her relationship with Rod AND Peter Sellers!
If this was some other forum, I really wouldn't care, but its Murcielago Roadster. BTW The cards came out very nice, thank you!
I stand corrected, and I have lots to learn on matters Audi Youre welcome on the cards. Joe www.joesackey.com

Yep - on display in Essen, Germany for the TECHNO CLASSICA-show! I had the privilege to sit in the car. There are some very significant differences to the later (production-) cars! Saw the car first about 6-7 years ago when it was in very bad condition with AUTO SPORT near Modena,Italy, who did the restoration then. Ciao! Walter
From what I've seen so far, it was a few Diablos, one Miura (Joe?) and a bunch of Audis. And a BMW M1.
