Yes, the glass seemed to be all the same.

We measured an anniversary vs our lowbody, the difference seemed to be in the door/body structure. The rocker panels seemed to be the same, but difficult to tell due to all the straking on the anniversary.

I have taken the measurements as per your photos and have come up with the following measurements. The numbers 1-5 are as per your photos.

Measurements are from my 1987 QV FI

    1) interior door near window winder top of frame to bottom of frame
    your car 14 1/4".......................87 QV 15"

    2) interior of the door at the wide end, top of frame to bottom of frame
    your car 15 3/4".......................87 QV 17 1/2"

3)outside of door opening from the lower body line to top of door opening
    your car 17 1/4".......................87 QV 18 3/4"

    4) top of the body line to the top of the opening for the door
    your car 19 1/4".......................87 QV 19 1/4"

    5) outside of door at the back end from the top of body line to the bottom
    your car 16"............................87 QV 19"

    6) outside of the front of the door from bottom of door to body line
    your car 15" ...........................87 QV 15 3/4"

(I will qualify both your measurements and mine as +/- 1/4 inch to allow for slight differences in measuring techniques )

So I guess there really is a difference in some of the dimensions between the two cars.

    COOL!!!!!!!!!

    nice one.
what we dont know though is that is this down to an actual difference in the shell/roofline dimensions, or is it a revised door after the floor was reputedly lowered ?

id love to know the height from lowest chassis tube to the roofline
not the easiest to measure tho i suspect, unless you measure roof height from the floor on both cars (a) and then find the lowest struture underneath and measure how far off the floor it is (b) - then subtract b from a

whats so important about this khashoggi (note the spelling) guy anyways
not exactly a celebrity is he.
no hes a merchant of death - sure i bet ppl must be lining the streets with a chance to buy his old car.

praps Saddam had one too, or Osama bin Laden or maybe the Ayatollah Khomeini hey you could hype them up and sell them at inflated prices, now theres an idea - lol still at least the public have heard of those ppl i mentioned.

i just hope the car goes back to the uk or other rhd country and that ppl arent convinced to pay over the odds becuase of a link to an arms dealer

oh an steve whats with the continual bashing of joe sackey ?
he seems to me a genuine guy with a real passion for the cars and someone who is happy to help ppl out and post up what he knows
seems to be more than can be said for "other people"

I know you just cant wait to come on here and gloat like a little kid with "look what Ive done now" but Im sure most are nonplussed as am I. LOL.
Thanks, but I have a truly nice yellow LP400 with less than 3,500 real miles for sale on my website www.joesackey.com, only this one you dont have to drive down the street piloting it from the passenger seat :)

I did indeed have an interested party who could in fact utilize a right-hand-drive car in one of those rare countries where they still drive on the wrong side of the road, but he has since decided to buy another in his home country so I am currently empty-handed for someone looking for a RHD Countach.

So too, I do not have anyone wishing to fund a two-year total restoration of a Miura SV at the present.

BTW, I hate to burst your bubble but if 1120204 does indeed sell for a good price it will be because it is a genuine LP400, and not because it was owned by a disgraced arms dealer with ties to Osama Bin Laden.

In fact, Id further venture to suggest that to a prudent collector, the link to the notorious Khassoggi does not make it worth $1 more.

There is a difference between being famous and infamous. The former helps a car's provenance, and the latter can hurt it. Khassoggi subscibes to the latter Im afraid, having accumulated his wealth by ill-gotten means.

I dont know if youve done your homework on Khassoggi but perhaps you should know that the link to the arms dealer is not an enhancing attribute of a car's provenance. Last I heard (because I am in the financial industry) the disgraced middleman of the Iran-Contra scandal was established as the primary stockholder of GenesisIntermedia which was proven by the FBI to fund Osama Bin Laden. Trading of the company was halted and "AK" forfeited $7 million US in insider-trading profits. According to the report, "many ties between Khassoggi and Bin Laden have been pinpointed...we are 1,000 percent sure we can directly or indirectly connect Khassoggi to Bin Laden..."

So perhaps you might not wish to toot the Khassoggi horn too loudly... but thats your call :)

If 1120204 sells well, that is great, and is good for everyone who owns a Lamborghini of any kind. However if it doesnt sell at the auction for whatever reason, some will be running quickly for the exit. LOL.

By the way, we would all like to know, what is the Reserve you have set for this car? Also, can you tell the community-at-large specifically what work has been done on this car and in what mechanical condition it exists?
The reason I ask these questions is that although I havent a prospect for the car currently, I am being besieged by enquiries seeking to solicit my opinion on several Lamborghinis that are due to be auctioned by Russo & Steele next month in Monterey, including and especially this one. I would like to provide them a response and since you are the vendor it is only proper that I should ask you directly.

    Chaos,

Dont worry. I have this covered and I am hot on the trail of the ex-Saddam Hussein Miura SV. I will swing by Cardiff and pick you up and then together we will make history by 'discovering' this hertofore unknown car. Then we will consign it in the Coys Silverstone auction (after 6 months of being unable to sell it) and establish a world-record for the model JUST BECAUSE it was owned by a person of infamy. Stand by Robin, Batman is on his way! LOL.

no one here bashing joe.... he is the one that usually comes out bashing !

simply trying to help him save on long distance phone calls to the middle east as until very recently,he was still trying to locate this lp400...

thanks joe for the advice...i for one dont give a hoot about khassoghi ....but ,he is or was a celebrity that entertained the worlds richest and all the california stars....on his boat etc... i believe oil was his main $$..not arms... but who cares..if he ever sold arms in the middle east, i am sure some of them landed in my country (israel)..therefore ,i am the last to admire..but it is good documentation as far as ownership.. that is all... who cares about the whole story around the car...the car is an lp400 and that is what matters....
all suspension bushings except for 2 bushings which are not avail. for now were replaced.... i mean all !
    engine support bushings as well..
    carbs fully rebuilt...
    tune up,caps,rotors,fluids...
body and paint were very nice and i will not touch other than detail and polish it..
interior is all original...show very well... the dash mouse hair is the down side to this car as it aint in the best of shapes but it is original and can get replaced quite easily and for a small sum $$ . the brown mouse hair needed to come for italy and i am out of time to do it....

it is not a show car but a nice/to maybe very nice driver...survivor condition ,original i would call it .

My point exactly, glad we agree. The car is not worth $1 more because of the link to Khassoggi and Im glad you can help us negotiate the hype in the auction catalog which is just that: hype. And yes, nobody cares particularly about Khassoggi and his kind and whatever he did with whomever. If I owned such a car with such a history (God forbid) I would ensure that I never mentioned it! LOL.

BTW, if anyone was making calls to the Middle East about your RHD car, it was not me my dear. In the last few months I have had my hands full dealing with the sale of 3 seperate LP400. As I recall, your 1120204 has been for sale for quite a while with no takers. Now thats just a fact.
