The community has to admit: where else can they talk about Countachs and still get first-rate entertainment? Joe www.joesackey.com

YEP, the only thing better than this lately was the new movie I saw last night........ "Transformers" Highly recomend it!!
Here is what I have on this car: Carozz. no 102 (Production number 102) Guisto dirigere (Right Hand Drive) Colore esterno - "Giallo Flay" (Fly Yellow) Colore interno - "Tabacco" (Tobacco) Telaio - 1120204 (Chassis 1120204) Motore - 1120204 (Engine 1120204) Consegna - 17.7.1976 (Completion July the 17th 1976) Concess.Clienti Immatricolaz. - Berlinetta Motocars GB. 28.7.1976 (Supplied to Berlinetta Motorcars of Great Britain on July the 28th 1976, client not listed) What this means is that we have a car that has: - Its original paint color (paint may have been refinished again). - Its original interior color. - Its original disposition as far as being purpose-built as a right hand drive car. This info is what matters. Links to in-famous criminals means zip in value. So Steve, youre welcome. If you didnt generally give me such a hard time all the time, I would have offered you this a long time ago just like I do for EVERYBODY who asks me. You gotta admit, that Sackey fellow can be useful. As for original papers.... Joe www.joesackey.com
WOW, so what we have appears to be a ONE owner all orginal, NON MOLESTED example of an LP400 in VERY VERY rare RHD drive factory build HUMMMMMMMM Must be worth something to someone?? Thanks for the info Joe, no one ever said you were not useful LOL LOL Just for the heck of it...IF THIS CAR was yours...please tell me HOW you would describe it and sell it??? Show me some of your usefullness...
One owner doesn't necessarily mean "non-molested". It is amazingly rare to find any car of this vintage that hasn't had some hamfisted blacksmith into it. There are nearly always some surprises if you look deep enough. I am not denegrating the integrity of this or any other specific car, just stating my experiences with 30+ year old sports cars.
Agreed...I guess we need to have the def of un molested...for me..it means Orginal paint, interior, no accidents, no replacement parts, (other than standard maintance tires, clutch etc...) no after market add ons...no after market performance enhancements...thats what it means to me...
It is still a difficult-to-sell RHD car, BUT having the original records for a car always increases its value & appeal. I think its value just increased a bit... The point I have been tryng to make through all of this is that Im useful to you guys so stop giving me a hard time. LOL. Ask yourself: will you ever buy/sell/trade a Countach 4 litre in future? If so, I can be helpful if for nothing other than to establish the car's EXACT original provenance. I think you have everything you need. I would focus on its "still-in-original" disposition, and quietly forget to mention that it belonged to a criminal arms dealer who probably sat in it once. But its not my car.... OK, time to go. Gotta go and see another Miura. Joe www.joesackey.com
hi!curiosity can you write me the name of sweden magazine and the number and date of magazine or if you have can is possible to scan and post the image of the article?thank's
Unmolested to me, means that the big important things have never been apart since new. The heads have never been off. The engine/transmission has never been out of the car. The clutch/flywheel is still original. No collision or rust repair has been done, original paint. Items like starter/alternator, carbs, water pump, brakes, tires etc may have been repaired or replaced. The car is basically all still together as it was when new. This doesn't often end up being a very nice car (tons of patina, usually needs work) but its value lies in the fact that the internal parts are the ones it came with, assembled correctly, as opposed to some unknown mix of what some unknown DIYer did years ago. Fasteners are original type, threads are still good. It might smoke or leak but not because an idiot worked on it. I've seen everything, including finish nails used for transmission needle bearings (not a Lamborghini thank God). To me, the bottom line is that once the motor's been out, you really don't know what you have, unless it was you or someone you trust that did it. Everyone else has to take it on faith. How does the saying go: "In God We Trust, all others pay CASH"
the car is very original....driver interior ,original ,untouched since new.... engine bay is the same..paint and body and wheel sare superb.suspension bushings are 90% all done by us... we are detailing as much as possible the engine bay and interior.... as i wrote earlier, it is an original, one owner car,in original condition ,looking very nice...
Tony, Yes it is the later LP400S. The white/white has always been my favorite CT color combo. It is my second one in this color. The white/white was after all the poster car that I always saw back in the day. Its all secondary to the wonderfull noise this thing makes!!!!
Here's the ad from Russo & Steele. Looks pretty attractive but no mention of where the driver sits. Their latest email is pushing "The Reggie Jackson Collection". That should bring some drunken muscle car bidders with pocketsful of cash. The bids could indeed be high all around.
i took pics of the engine # .. it is a 100% match #'s ....... i need to know where the tranny # is so i can take a picture as well...anyone know where the tranny # is located ? also, does anyone know what is the original headliner color in a yellow on tobacco combo ? my car came with tan carpet....i am just not sure if the headliner is factory or not as i can see someone already reglued it.. and i dont like it.. it is coming down in a corner ..i will replace it....the current one is a light tan ....i would have thought lambo could have used white or off white as was pretty common in older cars .... anyone have the same color combo or know the answer ?
very good italian translation Joe, congrats for what i know carozzeria is more probably body and consegna i suppose could translate in delivery and i am laughing because they translated right with giusto (correct) and not destra LOL LOL
Steve: Don't sweat the small details, of a headliner. I would think the headliner, is one of the last items, a potential owner will look at. Unless of course, it is hanging down from the roof. Good luck with the sale Ciao Ralph
I think your headliner is original. It was a crappy material that always comes down after 30 years. You might just consider leaving it to be in keeping with the dash & seats? Joe www.joesackey.com
