There's nothing wrong with the headlights... but the plexi covers over the turn signals have been removed. Wonder where that car is now...

    *cracks back and stretches*

I just went through this WHOLE thread. Like 3 hours of reading... and that even with skimming some pages, not getting down into *everything*...
Amazing collection of info, and it's wonderful to watch new info develop and get rolled into the knowledge about these cars as it transpires.
I hope this thread sticks around for a long LONG time.

PS, it's also the first place I've EVER seen a photo of my Countach, that wasn't posted or provided by me :) Made me all teary eyed for it again!
Post #890, the white car infront of the VW's ... I took that one day when I went to a VW meet and told everyone my bug was in the shop for a funny noise, so I was bringing my 'beater' so I could still have lunch hehehe

Below is my fav pic of the car though!

Sure is nice to see the Countach thread alive again! I've been wondering about some of the project cars. Ralf? PeterK? Anything going on with your cars?

    A long process.

    The doors are off.

    How is your 308 ?

I missed the U.S. glass car, that was for sale in CA. That seemed like a good deal. Original paint and interior ! The shop owners attitude, was first person on-site with the cash, gets the car. He would not put the car on a temp courtesy hold. It is not easy setting up a PPI in another state, and putting boots on the ground, when someone takes that kind of approach. A glass Euro 308 dry-sump car (few of these in the U.S.) would be nice, but the prices today, and the weakness of the dollar, preclude a purchase making any economic sense.

    Happy New Year !!

I think they were all alluminum but I am not 100% sure on that.

There WERE cars built from the factory with wings... I know it was the early ones like yours and mine for sure but then in the mid years it might have been a dealer installed option and then back to factory in the late 80's.

I have spoken to a lot of "factory workers" from a lot of different factories who tell wild stories in a way to raise their importance level in thier mind and to capivate you into some sort of hero worship.

I see this all the time down in Florida were a lot of retired ex GM & Ford "factory workers" come in into my shop and tell me wild stories that I know are BS but I just listen and smile...

The 308's doing well. Of course it does not belong in a Countach thread, but here it is anyway! I hate seeing grey, dirty wheel wells, so I started wire brushing, sanding and chassis blacking everything you can see, and have migrated under the car to do everything you can't see, along with polishing the aluminum belly pans. I think there is some medical disorder for this behavior.

    Hello Joe,

Thanks for this highly addictive thread which I unfortunately did not discover earlier...

I'd like to show you some Countachs from my hometown. The white one with the white rims has been sold to Germany, Hamburg IIRC, but the other two still remain here.
The other white one had extensive work done to get it in its current state. Pics of that here: http://www.klassiekerrally.nl/index.php?page=lambo-countach

The red one is an ex-ABBA drummer car. It was equipped with a spectacular looking, but dull sounding sound system, which has been removed already.

ps: how do I make pics visible, instead of showing them as text links?

those three ct pics look like replicas.... notice on the white ct, the front tires are sticking out too far.... the red side view mirrors dont have the same shape as the originals... the white ct also has ann door panels.... and to top things off... look at the surrounding cars... Anyone notice they are mostly kit cars???

Here is a periscopa photo I ran into while sorting old ones: Monterey 2000, Laguna Seca on the Saturday. Note the blue Silhouette behind it.

    Best regards,

    Marc
