you really make it hard not to want one of these Joe... thanks .... :)

    great pics !

by the way, how much are Countach owners manuals?

it would be nice to have one, before i find a car. the other Italian / European cars i have had, all had some cool info and schematics in the manuals. if anyone has one from any of the pre 89 cars, let me know please. it doesnt have to be in good shape as i want it more for info than looks.

Ive seen a few manuals around, but EBay still seems to be the best source but check EBay UK and EBay Germany as well - Ive purchased TONS of stuff from both.

A freind of mine just got back from Sant Agata and did a good 3 hour interview with ex Chief Engineer Paolo Stanzani. It will appear in the Countach publication.

Here is the "Ingegnere" himself, posing with the Jarama, and fondly re-united with the prototype LP400 (bet he has never forgotton the flying trip in THAT car to and back from the Targa Florio with Bob Wallace that inspired the car's production!!)

Ya know Joe, the 1980 Lowbody in white is top on my list :)

I guess after the Silhouette and the 79' Countach I could take or leave the Bravo wheels.

Look at this thing...it even has those big goofy mirrors I like. Just need to remove those side plates on the wing ;)

    #1121114 might fit the bill.

The Countach being such an angular car, white works well. I agree the BRAVO wheels are becoming a little more than they need to be, but I dont think cars that have the smooth-finish items should have them swapped for Bravos. For heavens sakes, let the cars be what they are!!
The rectangular mirrors you like are cool because they are what came with many of the cars from late 1979 onwards. Again, they are what they are, why change them....
I cant understand why people change the equipment on these cars. If you want to experience a 1980 car, then just enjoy it as it is, and youll get the 1980 experience!! LOL. Cant understand the need for changes any better than I can understand those who feel the compulsion to repaint a car in "resale red" even though that wasnt its original color... *rolling eyes*

OK, Ill get off my soap box now. Meanwhile Im combing the ground for you.

    Very Best,
    Joe

Big and goofy mirrors do grow on you! And I hear they deflect the air over the rear wing giving it greater down force. But really, more mirror to see backwards aint bad.
Could one of you two PM me and let me know what the asking prices are on the two Tony is working on. I'm just curious as to the value of these 400S low cars.

    Thanks,

    Greg

The Countach is so interesting in 3/4 and angular views that's what we usually see. The square side views of the S1 "Low Body" here though really is good for comparisons.

Notice the roof is lower than my belt (I'm 5-11):
