I agree with most of this... but WHO did the motor work?

You try to sell a Ferrari without service history and people do 1 of 2 things:

    1. Walk away from the car like it's a bastard.

    2. Offer you a lot less for it because of no history.

Who ever did that engine job, was not Lamborghini. So you going to take a sellers word for it?

Oh by the way..... the car just sold and the Dupont seller is just flipping the car... so just a wanabe car dealer telling lies.

The car is worth $110,000 considering all it needs.

    - On the rosso/nero 1979, with the OZ.

I wish we could swap each other's dash, less the instruments !!!!!!!!!

I absolutely hate speaker cut-outs. I have potentially passed up, some used collector cars over the years, due to aftermarket stereo set-ups. Please no thank you, I am not interested in your 20K stereo. I will be just fine with a broken factory original 70's or 80's radio, that does not work. I have the same radio, which is illustrated on P.92, in the Coltrin Book.

You gotta love those blue and red fittings. - All it needs is some chrome and stickers.

    - Another person who jacked with the A/C mountings.

    Hey Ralph,

I did not see the AC / dash change...good eye.

Another reason why that is not a top dollar car.

I thought the one on Miami Vice was sans wing and had U.S. spec bumpers... I remember being disappointed at that fact...

There were 3 different cars in several episodes over the years one of which was a USA QV you speak of, but there was also an LP400S and this Euro QV.

I wish I had seen the other two episodes. Even at that young age I knew the Euro bumper cars were the purity of the form and the very existence of the uglified U.S. bumpers was proof that facism still lived in the world...

Here are the greatest movie openings of all time...

The Cannonball Run- My personal introduction to the greatest sounds and sights in the world. To think my mother was worried about the cleavage and tight jumpsuits on the girls!: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jYsIWRijY90

The Cannonball Run II- With the white-to-red 'hosejob' and the speeded up film, it is a step down from the first film, but the girls got hotter. Too bad the Countach is gone before the race even starts: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f0-n_cR9Hig

Speed Zone (Cannonball Run III)- Yeah the Countach has a U.S. rear bumper and half the footage is of a kitcar, but it's still worth a peek. Note the inclusion of a cameo by LP400S #1121112 at the beginning of the clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D5iv1-3vEVA

Various scenes from The Cannonball Run: Countach at 1:38, 6:12, and 7:25 (note Sammy and Deano's 308 is on a trailer in this shot): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnRWdPll14Q

I've always been very curious about that white
Countach that was used on that Miami Vice episode... the QV, not the 5000S.
I can't imagine how that car escaped ALL regulations. No US bumpers, no rear side marker lights, not even a third brake light....how did that happen, and yes it would be Very nice to know where it is now....(Sorry Joe, it has silver rims though)

As a member of the young generation, the Countach has aged about as nicely as Farrah Fawcett. The Miura is more along the lines of Jaclyn Smith--like fine wine. I know people in the 1970s and '80s went ga-ga for the Countach, but I don't see it. A polite difference of opinion; but I commend Countach owners for taking care of their cars.

i think you should see one on the road, in person (and exp. an LP400 or a low roof S )
way better than in pics:the car is 5x times better on the road and you could see how low and wide it is

Can anyone clarify if some of the 1979 LP400S that have chassis numbers WITHIN the series of cars we know were supplied with Bravo wheels come supplied with later smooth-finish wheels? Ill give anything the benefit of the doubt but can anyone clarify?

Also, can anyone clarify if a 1979 car would have its center console modified with non-standard material? Again its all possible but anyone know for sure?

The above is being suggested to me and im not in concurrence so Id like help with clarification.

The pictures of that car clearly show that the wheels are NOT Campagnolo by the valve stem position in the casting. They are OZ. The OZ wheel was not made in 1979. They were not made until 83-84? so there is NO WAY that those are the original wheels. I have never seen a AC console made that way in any Countach. I don't know why we are entertaining the ramblings of a flipper that knows less about Lambo history than my kids.

as said before wheels are a BIG problem
as Tony or Joe i have never seen a similar interior
and if the car doesn't have an history .....well at this point is better to find an other one

I suppose one of the previous owners, wanted to keep cool, instead of the rear view mirror enjoying the benefit ?
