A simple question for CS owners please - does your car's heating work when the aircon is off? (And a followup if the answer is "no" - does it work decently when the AC is on?)

Thanks in advance for the help...

The heater should work with the STOP button depressed according to the owners manual (image attached) and I believe mine operated as described. That said, not much need for heat in Phoenix, AZ!

Thanks, I've read that part of the owners manual too - problem is on my car the heating doesn't work when I press the stop button. Can any current owners confirm this works for them please?

Mine's Modena not CS, but with the Stop button pressed in neither heating or aircon operate.

I recall seeing other 360 owners reporting the same function in previous threads... which would suggest the fault is in the manual and your car is just fine.

Edit - Here's the previous thread where the STOP button's operation discussed:

The owner's manual is incorrect. This was the first thing I found out when I bought my spider in the middle of winter. No heat with the HVAC system in "off" mode, after reading the owner's manual I though there is a problem with my HVAC but later found this to be the nature of the beast.

I guess it doesn't really matter to loose 5-10 horse power when you have 400. In any case the A/C compressor shut off automatically when you full throttle it so....

Is this definitely true? I'd not heard that before - is it 100% full throttle only, or some high value threshold? It would be nice to know I'm getting full power when driving hard ... because to me it does matter losing 5-10 horse power when you have 400 (420 ish in CS).

In AZ all we care about is that the AC works..... thankfully it rocks!!

Andy, I don't design Ferraris for a living so I am not sure of their design parameter to shut off the compressor. However I do know that majority of car manufacturers uses a value from the throttle position sensor to detect WOT to shut off the compressor. I can see two immediately benefit of this function. (1). Give the extra horse power needed for the engine (2). Prevent over rev of the compressor as the turning speed of the compressor is directly related to engine RPM.

You could always write a letter directly to Ferrari and hopefully they will answer.
