Then contact Rob or someone else for approval in testing the market. He allowed me to do this before sponsoring to see if there was a potential for what I wanted to do.

About 18 months ago, I had the same sort of idea. I spent quite a bit of money and time researching the market, and generally found that people were more interested in paying a lot for phones rather than computers. I'm sure there is a small market out there, but I found that people didn't want to spend a lot on something that would date quickly- in computing especially, tomorrow's product becomes yesterday's news within a few months.

If you can make it succeed, all the power to you. Just be careful, and think logically about whether or not this is a good idea.

That's what I thought I would see when I opened this thread. How did a custom Lambo computer turn into a wood trim machine?

I still think you are better of making peripherals. A quick google search turns up a lot of pre-existing companies already, but maybe you can fill in another niche that is still open?

I know for a fact that Intel has teamed up with Lamborghini to create some sort of special edition Lamborghini laptop, to counter Acer's Ferrari Line. It does look quite nice, if I can find a picture of it I will post it up.

    Second that.

I like the wood products, they're nice, but my computer is just a tool for me. I can't see spending the money to dress up a tool.

Now, a toy.....that's different. Show me some custom wood frames for my 50" plasma and then we'll talk.

    Best of luck to you.

I used to build my own pc's for years and years... but honestly dell makes the best machines on the market, and the price can't be touched.

Plus the less I see of my computer the better, all that maters is the monitor :p

Also seems like a wooden laptop would be too heavy to be portable, and too delicate...
