This watch looks a 1000 times better in person.
The colors look great and different, the diamonds are barely noticeable, good from my point of viewand the black crocodile strap looks AMAZING really different from the other RO O.
It's a shame it's so expensive, for that money maybe I'll wait for a RB.

I saw the Rodeo Drive, and it is making me think a lot. I want an Audemars, but I like all the limited editions of the offshore, but I don't have money for more than 1.

From your professional point of view what would you buy an Audemars like this one, or a RO O limited edition RB, RD, Monte Napoleone, T3.... or a Richard Mille RM 005 in gold or titanium?

The Jay Z is a good buy in my opinion, just like the T3 is/was.

The RB I'm not too sure of. They have changed it's design already, and most people seem to like the Montoya more...

The RM005 is also a really nice watch, I just like rounder watches. The RM also doesn't have the legacy that an AP has :)

Hi Peter, is Panerai Luminor 1950 rare? Panerai Ferrari Series seems tempting..

Limited to 1950 pieces, pretty rare. A lot of Panerais are limited actually.

I still haven't seen the Ferrari watches in person, but I like how they have more of the Radiomir shape. I really like that style more than the luminor.

Man you are really obsessed with Audemars Piguet

I have owned one, and to be honest, i like my Rolex's and Breitlings alot better.

Its a nice time piece, but to me, worth nowhere near what they charge for them.

Wouldn't say I'm obsessed with them, but they are probably in the top 3 of watchmakers. They sell extremely well, which is always good too :)

You could argue a Vacheron or Patek is overpriced as well.

Maybe thats because they are some of the most classic looking, and in my opinion best looking watches made. And dont go dissing thier quality, i had an AP once, it was hell, the thing broke every time i wore it. I have never had one of my Rolex's sustain any kind of damage.

Blowing 30-40k on an AP is not worth the extra dough.

At least thats my opinion. Some could argue that its like spending that much on a Ferrari, but its just not the same.

Sure, a Rolex is a work horse, I'll give you that.

You can easily compare watches to cars. You could say an AP / VC / PP is like buying a Ferrari. They are very low volume, specialty made watches. Out of their niche buyers market, it would be tough to convince somebody that's it's worth it.

Buying a Breitling, Omega, Rolex, etc... is more in tune with buying a BMW / Audi / MB etc... They are a lot more common, maybe more realiable, and cheaper.

All those cars are great cars, just like the watches are all well made. Just Rolex / Omega make millions of watches a year and can be seen all over the place.

Personally I like to own watches that are a little more unique. It's just my take on things though. ;)

I was wandering through a watch store in Las Vegas last weekend, trying on watches you don't see very often. The girl asked me what I thought of Rolex and I said "Nice watch, but I don't want one". She asked about Breitling and I gave her the same response. She smiled a little and reached under the counter, then handed me a very unusual watch. She asked if I knew what it was, and I said "Of course, it's a Ulysse Nardin Freak". She grinned and said "You know watches!".

Glad I was wearing my Panerai and not my Swiss Army watch, otherwise I'm sure she wouldn't have given me the time of day.

So you looking for a UN Freak ;-)

Which store in Vegas? I didn't see any freaks, but I did see a few Sonatas and Minute Repeaters.

I was walking through a shopping mall while on vacation and I had a Roger Dubuis hat on (very subtle, maybe 1/2" high letters at the most). I passed this high-end watch store and stopped for a minute to check out their display. As I turned to walk away, this guy rushes out excitedly and tells me, "You have to come in!". Turns out he was the owner and he then proceeded to show me every Dubuis in his store - tourbillons, chronos, retrogrades, perpetuals, etc; he even unwrapped a watch that was already packed to be sent out to a customer to show me. After the first couple of couple of watches, I told him "Look, this is beautiful stuff, but I'm just not ready to buy anything today" and he said, "Piffle, that doesn't matter. I don't often get a chance to show these off to someone who really appreciates watches. Most people that walk in just see the price tag and the exclusivity or if they know something, they call me and I mail it to them and that's it." Then he proceeded to pull out more watches; all his Dubuises then UN's, PP's, AP's, VC's, etc. I must have spent a couple of hours there. All this from wearing the right ballcap :D.
