I always assume people are completely and totally full of ****. This way it doesn’t come as a shock when they are, nor do they end up with a hand in my pocket.
"You can get away with a lot of s**t if you look like that's all you know how to do." - Henry Rollins. Damn, he screwed over his own parents. Was he a member here?
Everyone from my knowledge on this subject. He scammed numerous dealers with fake wires and fake order sheets from World Wide as per the court documents. He also attempted to purchase cars from private individuals or sell "allocations" requiring up-front wires. Just a few weeks ago in the NYC area he was "selling" various allocations to individuals. There was never concrete evidence in the car scene as he seemed to keep everything locked down separating his public image from his scams. He was also known for Lemon Law on exotics which wouldn't surprise me if he was modifying sales documents during lemon law to pocket large sums of cash. I didn't know about this 918 scam which is just another dealer he attempted to scam with his Monza "allocation" and makes me wonder how many people are going to get to share their dealings with him. The only logic that I could have with how he got this going is by buying car #1 from someone, delaying full payment and selling that car to buy 2-3 more then finally pay for car #1 while delaying full payment to #2-#3. My real question is, where are the vehicles he "owns" currently and how much is Putnam Leasing sitting on if that was even true. Hope they are aware if they have any "assets" of his in their books. I know he had an LFA , Various Ferrari's and new GT3's as I physically saw them and registered to him. (FYI I was turned to this post from someone who sent me this link, Had no idea there were previous dealings with him on this forum but reading those old posts just confirms what I thought)
I personally know quite a few people who have dealt with him and thankfully none of them have suffered any damage.
Oh wow - the legend continues. Thanks @ttforcefed If you guys have 1 hour to kill, check out this rabbit hole. We were very kind to him even though he tried to screw us all over.
Texas2step asked: @Dansage you don’t have to prove anything to anyone!! 100% agree @everyone else, why do you care!! *** I replied: Because if somebody went to such great lengths to concoct a story like this, I argue they are not a source for credible information, nor would I recommend anybody do business with. In essence, it would benefit the community they are identified as a charlatan, albeit minor or major or of no consequence, that's up to you. *** @Texas2step we'll all take that apology now.
reminds me of this subculture Inside Miami’s Luxury Car Hustle: Fake It ‘Til You Make It Image Unavailable, Please Login It's scary to see sociopathic/psychopathic behavior up close. (shivers) Some people genuinely are just missing something in the head.
I remember that guy , something with a car he didn’t own because there were a few sleuth s on FCHAT found it at another dealership.
Paul I just took a quick look--I've been a member here (with off and on participation) since high school, somehow I missed this one! The thread now belongs in the hall of fame here...
Looks like his dad was in the scam too. Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree is the Lesin to be leaned here. Also it is not lost on me his claimed to be what…? A Russian Oligarch.
I was a little lost when I read the thread as he was commenting on two different handles, is he also the "oligarch" handle as well or is that a different person?
I’m not sure, but many reports said Daniel claimed to be Russian billionaire, could be just coincidence though.
Almost got taken for a about 300k and I know a watch dealer who was taken for over a million and a friend taken for over a million.
This is mine boggling to me… How people didn’t see it coming from a mile away is completely bewildering… I anxiously await to hear the details of how he manipulated things to make it look like he was credit worthy
