OFFICIAL: Ricciardo leaving McLaren #F1 #shorts - YouTube Official. I hope he lands a decent spot somewhere else.
So, a blog on Youtube makes it "official" ? I wouldn't hold my breath on that ! Youtube is full of bloggers pretending they know all about drivers' moves and other aspects of F1.
And from that source? Good enough for me! https://www.motorsportmagazine.com/articles/single-seaters/f1/daniel-ricciardo-to-leave-mclaren-at-the-end-of-current-f1-season Rgds
Behave.....https://www.mclaren.com/racing/team/daniel-ricciardo/daniel-ricciardo-leave-mclaren-racing-end-2022/ note timing of 1500 UTC before the video to which you are objecting....
Didja glaze over the fact that McLaren's announcement was timestamped prior to the youtube video? It's also on formula1.com so....maybe taking offense to one board member linking to youtube isn't so necessary.
I hope he's out of F1 completely. He's a clown and I wouldn't miss his constant self-aggrandizing about this win or that nor his need to constantly be "on" in front of the cameras with his stupid behavior. He never gave the outward appearance that he was serious about his craft... Im sure he was... but it rarely appeared that way. He's always seemed more desperate to give that saved up one-liner he thought of in the morning to the cameras than he did about the race or his performance or lack thereof. I'm not a fan of Pisaster either. Maybe that'll change with more exposure, but for now... I hope Lando wipes the track with him.
I don't know...I don't think it's a lack of hunger. IMO It's 2 part: Last year's car didn't suit him, and this year even less so, and he really struggles to adapt, and his 2nd problem is Norris: First of all I think he's tremendously underrated still and this particular car suits him very well, growing the gap larger. Norris will dominate Piastri in the same fashion.
Bold prediction that was along the lines of Ricci not having issues with Norris. What if Norris suffers under Piastri-Chef lol I do doubt that Norris will lose to Piastri but this is F1. We are continually surprised
It ALWAYS takes 2 - McLaren shares responsibility for Ricciardo's F1 struggles McLaren says it needs to share responsibility for things not having worked out with Daniel Ricciardo, after the Australian’s split from the Formula 1 team was announced on Wednesday.
This seems to conflict with his boldly confident statements about his future that he made a few weeks ago. Smoke blower. So which team will give him yet another opportunity to fail?
I laugh at you calling anything coming from Youtube as "official", when most of these blogs are just garbage.
Drama - not from the words of Zak. More drama on this little forum. Ricci the latest to suffer here simply because he doesnt get the same performance out of the car as someone else. A clown lol? Tell him that in person. Im certain meeting him most here would have a good visit and find him to be genuine. We complain that the drivers are robots of Corporations. Ricci is nicely not one of them. Brown said that parting with the hugely popular Ricciardo was the "saddest" decision he had made during his tenure in charge at McLaren. McLaren Racing and Daniel Ricciardo have mutually agreed that Daniel will leave the team at the end of the 2022 season. The team thanks Daniel for his dedication and contribution, including that memorable win in Monza. We look forward to finishing the season strongly together. "Yes, certainly during my time at McLaren," Brown said. "Daniel's a wonderful person and a great person to be around. We've had many laughs, we've sprayed champagne together and it's very personal. "Today is a sad day - that things didn't work out as we hoped they would. I'm going to look back with some very fond memories, some fun times together on and off the track. "He's still young, so we hope to see him in a competitive racing car. And one of these days we might see him being a pian for us on the racetrack, and that will be fun because he's a good competitor
Why do you think McLaren would be the loser? I don't think Palou would be a contender in his first year, he's never driven an F1 car to my knowledge, and it will certainly take time to learn the cars and tracks, but I he is obviously a very good driver. I agree we have no way of knowing how good, but I wouldn't just write him off.
So, McLaren wouldn't get Piastri, but an unknown quantity to replace Ricciardo ? Humm, the guy Palou must be pretty good, because on paper it doesn't look very good for them. If McLaren don't get Piastri, it's a massive shot in the foot at Woking, IMO. What says Piastri about that ? LOL Eating humble pie next year ?
