Hello to all FerrariChat forum members I have owned my 1994 Ferrari 348 Coupe since around 1996 and have yet to be able to determine which model of this car I actually own. Im not sure if I am posting this in the wrong section of this forum as this is my first post. If I am wrong I will be happy to redirect my question into the proper channel, just let me know. I have done some reading on this subject but am still not sure what the answer is. The VIN number for my vehicle is ZFUA5000097047. I believe there was a 348 TB model and a 348 GTB model. When I purchased this car way back when I was told that it was not a US model and in fact a Euro model. Any input from the members or Admins of this forum on this matter would be greatly appreciated, as I know you guys are far more knowledgeable about these cars than I am. Thank you!
97047 is pretty late, likely a GTB. Send a pic of the engine bay and we can tell easily just by looking.
Can you check your VIN number, it seems to be three characters short to put into the VIN decoder. GTB's were Euro only, they didn't produce a US version as far as I know. 1994 is definitely going to be a GTB I'd say, but get that complete VIN and we can run it through the decoder. SHould be 17 characters long. For example, it should be ZFF, I see there is only one F......so have a quick look and let us know, or if you dont want to publish it here, PM it to me.
Thanks for your quick response. This was the best picture I had at the moment as I am not with the vehicle at the moment. Thank you! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yep, that clearly settles it, you have a F119H engine which is the late high compression version, 320hp. There are very few true GTB's they only made 252 of them. If you're having a 348, in my book this IS the one to have!! You are a lucky guy it has to be said!!
Thank you!!! Great to finally settle that after all these years )) Makes me feel a little better after selling my '81 308 for 25k in 2011 seeing how the value has skyrocketed I'll definitely be holding on to this one for a while
Noooooooooo......these things happen.....I'd rather have the 348GTB. I think you've ended up in a good place.
The operative question is how this car is legalized for ownership in the US. The GTB/GTS cars were never imported.
Nice to see a GTB in the States. A French delivery 1994 GTS (F119H) resided here in Scottsdale AZ back in 2012.
The car was sold in Germany and somehow imported here from the original owner from what I was told. Idk much else.
Yes but even the latest one has been legal for import since 2019. My 92 ts was imported in 2017, one month after its 25 year birthday.
Taller plenums and you can see the little lines in the top have a different design. Normal F119D Image Unavailable, Please Login F119H Image Unavailable, Please Login
