Gonna run that 206 faster than 130MPH?

I mean, since we're nit picking on this.

I know of one 206 in Reunion Island (I had to look up where that was) which has been off the road for a very long time. Could be one of the cars unaccounted for

It's not just the 130+ mph speed a H rated tyre isn't up to compared to the performance of a V rated tyre. It's the braking, grip, handling..... ;) Insurance may be a problem too.

Thank you, very informative article about the pros and cons of 206 and 246. For my personal taste i would pick the 246.

Better yet, the 246 L, it still has the knock offs :)

I suppose they must have had a surplus of hubs for knockoffs, and wheels + spinners.
Plus assorted parts that were shared / similar to 206.

So promote to 246, L series, and continue to use parts until all done?

    Regards, Alberto

As they say in the Ferrari world Alberto " anything that was available on the shelves at the time until they ran out " Which in this case was a good thing. You are right.

    Insurance?

Are you telling me, with a straight face, that your insurer has asked you what kind of tire you have on your car?

I've had classic insurance, regular insurance on all sorts of cars, including a Dino, and never, not once, was I asked what brand or speed rating tire was on the car. Hell, I've never even been asked the age of the tires, which would, in my opinion, pose a much greater risk that a one notch lower speed rated tire on a 50 year old car that no one is going to push anywhere near the limits of adhesion.

Sorry, but I wouldn't give any excuse for an insurer not to pay. Not worth the worry.

When in Europe you have to go through the same, or close to the MoT in the UK.
They will flunk you, forget the insurance as w.out an MoT, you cannot register/(renew.
TÜV in Germany, is probably the toughest.

In the 3rd world we get sent (container loads) of tires with a pin hole, which in many places, you cannot repair, through away!
It happened to me, on a 'rent a car', and they put on a new tire.

Then we get them as new, on the cheap. We are 3rd world, the trash cans of the "civilized world".

I don't want to beat this particular dead horse, but, using the wrong SIZE tire could be just as potentially threatening to a claim as the wrong speed rating. After all, based on your argument, both affect the handling characteristics of the car.

Why not just admit you were wrong in your original premise that the appropriate size tires weren't available and let it go.

Why on earth would I admit that I am wrong when it is you that is wrong and it is me that is right?

I am the lucky one to have purchased #378.
First time Dino owner but have been admiring these cars for some time now. It seems to be a great car.

I am looking for some expert advice and help with fixing some of the incorrect and missing items. I will do the work (that I thoroughly love to do) but would love to have an expert show me what is right and wrong with the Dino.
Any thoughts on who could help?
    Thanks
