Thanks very much, looks like it uses the original steering rack. Ideally the best solution would be to replace the rack which is the weak spot.

at least 15 years ago I talked with a guy who had stuffed a buick V8 in the back of a 246... wonder what ever happened to that car.

    It's really not a 248. It's a 328 Dino GTS, right?

And even though the workmanship is great, I just don't get it.

    To each to his own.

If EVERYTHING is returnable to original condition, I see nothing wrong with it.

I do have some aesthetical issues with it, but that is only my opinion.

300 HP? Sounds like extreme fun in a Dino.

    Regards, Alberto

I'm good with anything that can be reversed. Of course I am a fan of the 3x8 power plant so I may be biased. This much is not debatable: I know it sounds good!

The vintage Ferrari world and the vintage Porsche world are very different. In the vintage Porsche world it is a common practice and well accepted to continuously develop and improve the product and performance. One of the reasons an early 911 is so capable and popular. The vintage Ferrari world scorns anything other than original as delivered. Problem is, Ferrari never really fully developed it's early products. I have a lot of respect for Kevin. He's not afraid to try and to experiment. The Jenvey/Motec TBI conversion he did on a customer's 246GT Dino is nothing short of spectacular! Also, the fact that he personally just drove his V8 Dino on a jaunt from the UK to the Alps and back in all weather conditions like a normal car speaks volumes about his capability. If I was near Mototechnique, there would be no question to where I would bring my Dino!

Hi Dgt, please be advised that I still have all the original parts safe and ready for that day when I tire of life, due to the amount of interest shown I will shortly answer the questions raised, cheers all Kev.

Hi Mrony, your points noted and appreciated. As is well known the Dino Gts suffers from tortional issues. During the build we were concerned about the effects the additional power and torque might have on the car's rigidity and this is why we installed the roll cage........... Happily the roll cage which is mounted at eight points takes care of this issue admirably , I too share your thoughts regarding the ascetics and so we have made the side rails detachable. The roll cage together with the fitment of modern Tyres / Koni two way adjustable shock absorbers all round has made a brilliant improvement to the car's handling as they offer a taught but compliant ride with the suspension now doing the work which was previously done by chassis flex. Furthermore I'm pleased to say that this car is one of the few Dino Gts's which doesn't have an annoying and distracting rattling roof which is a great testament to these modifications.
Finally, I didn't want to trade up to a more powerful car with all the mod cons .......... after 52 years in the motor trade mainly working as a " Copyist " worried about originality I decided to pursue the " What if " path with my own car whereby we could demonstrate what we are capable of and that is what we have done, all our modifications are reversible so no offences have been committed, cheers one and all, Kev.
