Dino Key Fobs.....wtf???

I have several of those. I'll be happy to let them go at $500 a piece. And mine look old, because I've used them to hold my lawnmower and snowblower keys for years.

Perhaps I'm missing something, but where is the evidence that these are actually SELLING for these prices?

All I've seen so far is a lot of 'Listing Ended' items, which does not mean the item has sold. Perhaps it has been removed from sale, or sold elsewhere for considerably less?

They sell pretty routinely on ebay, typically for a very broad range.

When represented as an original, and it is not, that is wrong.

I have one of these in my collection and I think I picked it up about 20-30 years ago. I had assumed it was original, but it has no markings on the back. Is there any way to tell which is the original factory issue and what is the reproduction. Thanks for your help. I realize this is an old thread, but some of these items are still listed on eBay today.

Hi Ken,
The fob you have is indeed an old fob, but still being produced. They have been available for at least 2-30 years from the tales of people that have them now and bought them back in the day.

They are very easily found around Italy. The value of one of these is most likely worth more to you than what they can be bought for, think $20-30.

They are commonly misrepresented on eBay as original, but Caveat Emptor.

No Doubt a replica.

The easiest way to tell replica is it looks almost "Too New", because it is. The metal that these are made of wears very quickly and finding a NOS fob is virtually impossible. It is funny how ALL of these NOS fobs have come out of the woodwork.

In early 2000's I ran an ad in FML for about 4 years trying to find one. I finally did and it was in very "Loved" condition.

My question is, if so many NOS perfect fobs are out there, where are all of the "well loved" fobs?

the little dots on the back are different with original fobs... they more flat and less marked...
edges on the front are also different... and the blue of the Dino script is slightly too bright...

Also the dot arrangement is more random in the area above the loop register whereas the repro have almost horizontal lines of dots.
