Anyone care to elaborate on why he prefers a 430 (not Scud) over a 458?
https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/201454687487 This one has your name all over it . You're already 1/3 of the way there since you have the carbon grill. You can buy reproduction CF Scud rear diffuser from Exotic Car Gear for about $2300. It is well made. Then all you'll need is the bumper mesh and a Scud exhaust. I believe drilling holes through a beam is required to install a Scud exhaust. Here's a vid showing how it's done. http://youtu.be/6v3-K_QIllk
It looks kind of like getting a brunet for a second wife when your first was a blond. You can have fond memories of the first, without those memories competing with your second. Have fun.
Great video! I hope the exhaust tips are secure. This F430 Challenge dropped its left tip in front of me entering Turn 8 at Watkins Glen... [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2h0B0PbARI[/ame] Fortunately I dodged it.
Eric - here it is, back to life and for sale https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/1997-355-ferrari-berlinetta.562455/#post-145626658
Ad deleted. Listing is commercial. Body shop advised. Don't know if it will get re-posted properly. D
Dave - was the commercial username the issue? Other no-sponsor dealers post but must stay within the guidelines.
He didn't post pictures of the damaged side. I hope it was done right. I'm curious if the Capristo exhaust and Tubi headers is still on it.
It was very hard to judge. The car would need to be viewed in person. The seller (upfront) disclosed the salvage title and the price was listed as $56K (negotiable). Given what they had to put into it, that seems pretty reasonable for someone that wants a driver. The interior looked fairly cleaned up too given the fact it sat outside in with the windows down.
Dave - $56K for a salvage title car? What's a clean one going for these days? Have to admit I don't follow the 355 market, but do love the cars. Last of the great looking AND SOUNDING 3 series cars. When we deleted the thread, it got a hard delete, so I can't dig the photos out and re-post here. D
I would not pay $56K. But the point I was making is, the guys had to put a lot of money or sweat equity into the car and I'm guessing they paid $35-38K for it as-is. So, they are not out to make a killing and they may not really make anything at all. Dave - the 355 market is tough. It's near impossible to find 2 cars in the same condition to compare equal value (comps). Market is soft now for sure. Robb just listed his car at $82.5K - that's a fair deal in my eyes for a car that is pretty similar if this one was not rebuilt.
If you look at BaT results, the last few clean-titled manual transmission 355s with more than 30K miles on them have been selling in the mid-$50-60K range.

was waiting to see pictures, overall it looks good.. but the front bumper does look a bit off.. depending on the price, someone can just pick this up and enjoy and not worry about anything.. always loved those rims on a 355.. will have to find something similar one day.
