Just thought I'd share, I discovered a new brighter LED bulb for the front parking light. The new LED bulb is slightly bigger but still fits parking light housing.

I knew its only a matter of time before someone makes a better / brighter LED bulb. Just need to do a search (T10 LED Bulb)

The 1st LED bulb I installed as I posted on post 1 has 10 LED's and small LED's. This new LED bulb has 13 LED's and the new LED's are bigger too so this bulb is brighter.

Another cheap mod for our 360. Only $3 bucks for the pair!!! 'Thought I'd share:

I will do this upgrade perhaps in a couple of months. Will post here for sharing.

I recently had one of mine go out and all the available offerings that I see look different than the next. I had the first style that Dan found and really liked them but a direct replacement is not proving easy to find. Some have more LED's on the side and fewer facing forward, etc. Has anyone bought recently any that they can recommend?

    Hi Kevin,

I now have an F430 Spider and parking light on my F430 is not the same, but I did a search for you and here are some options that should work. The bulbs type is 194, find one that's well made so it should last a long time and low profile so that it will fit a 360 parking light bulb socket.

And I recommend 6,000K bulb color for modern look.

    Hope this helps.

    ......................Thanks for this post. Had been looking for some LEDs for my front parking lights. The other offering being talked about here;

    T10 2 10 SMD 168 194 1206 W5W Hyper White LED Light Lamp Bulbs Canbus Error Free | eBay

is on ebay at $USD 5.95 each plus $USD 17 shipping to Australia (plus I would have to pay GST on top of that).....just crazy. They one of the dearest on the net. I guess because it fits a Ferrari !?!? This would have set me back $USD 44.88 all up for 4 LED lights.

Nice to see someone post a more realistic alternative that they have found and worked. . Just ordered 4 of these $AUD 8.58 ALL UP.

Ironically after ordering I went back and found the same thing even cheaper $AUD 0.99 with free shipping, I still got ripped off :)

Would have bought the others if I wasnt getting my wallet raped !?!?!?

This looks like a great upgrade. Will implement it once I buy the bulbs.

In the mean time I encountered a problem with these lights this morning when I started the car. All six running lights came on. Drove it anyway, after trying to determine problem. When I returned I fiddled with the light switch, but rotating the knob a number of times back to "O" the lights stayed on, and it did not matter if the car was running or off.

Any one have any ideas why the six running lights on the car would stay on. Fortunately I have a battery tender on the car, so hopefully the battery will stay charged. Fortunately for this article I now know how to unplug the lights to turn them off, and I can unplug, I hope, the light at the rear of the car. That should reduce the electrical load, and reduce the draw on the battery.

Any help, suggestions, or guesses would help

    Thanks

    Chuck

Did you accidentally hit your Parking Light switch located in the center console?

    Dan,
Hi there, my name is Tim Schmidt. I am now the custodian of your old 360 Spider. I purchased it almost three years ago in SD from Feralc. Upon purchasing her, I I drove her to my home in DC (around 3,200 mi. in four days) with my 80 year old dad. It was a great father-son trip and brought back memories of our summer cross country trips in his 67 VW camper(esque) van.

Driving her also puts a smile on my face every time. Like you, I dreamed of a Ferrari for years and finally pulled the trigger; I should have done it so many years earlier.

Maintaining a mistress from Maranello takes work and $$$, but I find that the value I get back is much more than the time and money I put into her.

That said, all of the LED lights are still going strong and I do like how they accentuate the engine compartment when out at night and I also like the bright (very bright) rear lights and brake lights.

I am needing to replace the headlamps now, however, as the left one has recently burnt out. Can you advise me on what you had installed? I believe that it is an 8000K HID, but I was hoping to order replacements before pulling the old ones out. Can you help?
Likewise, could anyone on this thread advise as to what their choice for an aftermarket bulb would be that has a low heat signature, is reliable, and provides good illumination (without blinding oncoming traffic)?

If I am out of line with my comments here, please let me know as I don't wish to offend.

    Tim

    Hi Tim!

What a great story. Thanks for sharing!

This is what life is all about, enjoying time with family and enjoying ourselves with the good things in life, our reward for working hard and being successful on what we do. Congrats! Im very proud of you. Im sure you're Dad had a blast and he's very proud of you for getting your dream car come true!

    Thanks for the kind compliments.
I love LED's as they are super bright, they dont get hot, you can play around with colors (kelvin rating) and consumes much less power. Glad to hear the LED's are still working fine.

With regards to headlights, Im sorry I can no longer recall what I had installed in there and what bulb type.
But the bulb type is listed in your owners manual. Kindly check.
Sorry my hard drive recently failed and I lost all my files and photos and DIY posts as the files were not recoverable :(

I recommend going name brand like either Philips or Osram HID's as they are very well made.
    I also recommend 6,000K.
8,000K is on the blue side. I think 6,000K is perfect.
And make sure the bulb is not a knock off (there are imitation bulbs out there.)

Dont worry about blinding traffic. What blinds traffic is improperly aimed headlights.
If your headlights are aimed properly / per Spec it wont blind drivers because the lights are focused and aimed down to the ground away from oncoming drivers eyes.

And yes, since the 360's are aging and getting up there in mileage be prepared for some expenses but we can save a lot of money by doing things ourselves.

    Hope that helps.

Feel free to post here or message me if you think I can help you with anything.

    All the best to you!

By the way, I now drive a 2016 California T. I've owned it for 2 years now and it's another outstanding driving machine.
Something to aim for as next car.

Not much not to like except what's common to all Ferraris or exotic cars = the cost to acquire, maintain and repair. Not cheap.....

But I consider it all money well spent as the smile it puts on my face every time I drive them is priceless!

Enjoy your 360 Tim! Beautiful car!

    Dan,

I love your California. It is a beautiful example. I thought about going with a California the first time around, but it was slightly on the high side of my price range and I wanted to get something I knew was well maintained, had likely lived indoors for its entire life span, and had not been abused. Also, my now 12 year old (was 9) would probably not fit in the back seat of the California; and even if she did, would not be comfortable on anything more than a trip across town. Next time around, If I ever part with the 360, I will probably go with either a California or a 430 (spider, of course).

That said, thank you for the advice on the headlamp and the appropriate Kelvin value. As you say, 6k is probably the best to go with and I will do that most likely.

As to the maintenance thing, yep, it is pretty expensive, but not overly so. I budget and set aside $$$ to cover the inevitable expenses that come up from time to time and am learning to do some elements of maintenance. I am hooked up with some great local FCA folks that I bounce ideas off of and who have long histories as Ferrari owners. Unfortunately, living in downtown DC (Dupont Circle/Adams Morgan), I don't have enough space to have a garage that is good for anything more than doing very basic (i.e. non jacked up) tasks, however, I am looking into some solutions that will afford me the ability to get access to a service bay with a lift so that I can begin doing some of the annual maintenance tasks and also do other preventative maintenance on the undercarriage.

Thanks so much for your reply. I will keep in touch periodically when and as.

    Tim

    Hi Tim,

Sorry just now again getting the chance to check FChat posts.

Yes, if you like working on cars you can save a lot of money by doing maintenance and repairs yourself.
I had a copy of the Workshop Manual but my hard drive failed a few months ago and lost most of my files but Im sure other members here can share theirs with you.

In case you havent seen my other posts about your car, please see this link below:

    Enjoy your new ride!
