$65 every couple of years its not a big deal.I wish that was the biggest maintenance issue during the ferrari ownership.

2 hours labor to save $40. Not a good investment of my time but go for it if it makes you happy.

    Guys,

I agree it's more labor than I want to put into something like this, but that was not the point.

Hugh (f355spider) said, "Curious if anyone has bothered to measure the dimensions, and find an alternate that will fit? Might take some doing at the local autoparts shop opening boxes...but there has to be a close fit for $15, over the $65 to $100 alternative."

I accepted Hugh's challenge. I spent an hour or two (I'm retired. No, I DON'T have something better to do.) looking through the NAPA online catalog for an equivalent filter for a much lower price. No luck, although half of their listings didn't show dimensions. Since I had the VUE in the same garage as my 430, I could pull its cabin filter and go from there.

Thanks Tom. My actual goal would be to find a true "drop in" fit alternative, preferably one with activated charcoal as well. I have had not time to put into searching for an alternative yet. I truly appreciate your efforts, but like others, I would rather spend the 2 hours once time, going through boxes at an autoparts store (or their catalog) to find an alternative once, then share it with everyone.

Anybody have a DIY on adding windshield wiper fluid? I want to make sure I don't confuse it with the brake fluid....

Do you have a 360? If you do, windshield washer fluid container/reservoir is on the passenger side of luggage compartment all the way up front close to the front bumper.

See page 5.22 of your owners manual.

Just an update to this, a substitute pollen filter is made by Corteco, part number 507580420. They're about $25.

Corteco also makes a activated carbon filter for a little more...about $31. But the damn shipping kills, as they are made in Germany. ;) Shipping is around $31...but still this is much less than the OEM part and added benefit of activated charcoal. Search under the German Ebay site.

I found the Corteco filter on Ebay for $24.42, but the $33.57 shipping absolutely kills the deal. For that amount, I'd just as soon order from Ricambi.

    See my post #35
It's still less than the OEM filter, AND Corteco makes a version with activated charcoal for only a couple dollars more. So perhaps $60 delivered for a superior filter. Versus oem at around $110 or $120 with shipping. You are still saving close to half

IMHO and experience the charcoal/carbon cabin filters can make a significant difference in allergy symptoms and resultant misery! they do sell these on e bay for $49.00 w/ free shipping! yes, you could make your own or I found a company that will make custom filters any size, dimension and type, and no minimum order! mayhaps I should have a batch made and sell them ( yes could do it for less than $ 49 and still make a fair profit ! ) moving up the trick, and $ scale we could market Electrostatic charcoal/ carbon HEPA filters ! ..................... and for the ultimate, have an electronic wire pollen zapper ( kind of like a bug zapper ) ! but I'm unsure of the electrical requirements! any electrical engineers out there in the audience?
