Do Ferrari's have a unique smell?

  1. Definitely something different about how an F-car smells

  2. No way, have you considered therapy?

  3. Yes, but only when it's leaking

  4. Yes, like fresh $100 bills flying out of my pocket.

I can't believe no one remembers. Do a Google search for Leatherique and Whale Sperm. Half the hits are me saying it without any proof, but there are several other links there too. :D

Fine leather and hot oil is how I would describe my sensory explanation for an F-car interior...............it is definitely unique to the marque......and they all smell the same.

Just like how the Porsche 964 has it's own different interior smell as opposed too the other generations of 911's.......

Outside the car I don't notice anything unusual though.

    Best answer thus far. :D

Well, I guess 'victory' has different meanings to different people.

    All the best,

    PS:
On a scale of 1-10, how dangerous is it for me to be antagonising FChat's founder? :D

Some people smell differently than others. My wife is one of those. She can identify smells that most of the rest of us just don't notice or can identify. (She really knows her wine and can taste nuances that just escape me.)

I was cleaning the 360 after a drive yesterday and a man came over and said he could smell the Ferrari engine and wanted to see what the car looked like. BTW he said it was a beautiful car.

So I definitely think the Fcars I have been around have a unique smell.

Perhaps the engine gets hot and burns off stuff (hydocarbons?) which creates an odor which permeates the seats, carpet, seatbelts, everything. I have only owned mid-engined Fcars with this unique smell. Does it apply to front engined Fcars as well?
