It took me a week to get a new title for my 330. The local license bureau inspected the car, the number, 6161, matched that on the title. I went next door to the title department. They WOULD NOT ACCEPT THE NUMBER! Said it didn't have enough digits. I explained that a universal VIN system didn't occur until after 1968 and that the Minnesota title, the inspection report and the release of lien all used the same 4 digit chassis number. Their state guidance books only went back to 1972 so they were no help.

I was told I had to go to the State police for an inspection. I refused (25 mile trip each way to the nearest post) and went home. Got some Ferrari books, printed out the 330 GT registry showing MY CAR in the pictures and went back to the title department and showed them that the chassis number was correct for the time. Was refused again.

I finally called the state police, told them the story, and they called the title office and told them to quit wasting my time and their time.

Once the title office agreed to process the title, the number came back as a trailer. :) This required further investigation on the part of the fat ho's at the title office and finally, once the state cops again told them to get a life, a title was mine. It's sometimes difficult to get a title even when you have the CORRECT numbers on it.

The last time I was at the DMV office to renew my tabs, the lady gave me a form and said "Here, sign this." I asked what it was, and she said it was an acknowledgement that the information on my renewal was correct. OK, I read it and signed it. She then went tappity-tap on her computer, got the new registration printout, took my money, and handed the slip to me. SHE HAD SPELLED MY NAME WRONG AND TRANSPOSED A DIGIT IN MY PO BOX ADDRESS !!!! And she gave me the "pouty face" when I told her to do it over.

I received this thread from a friend. It is so compelling that I just had to respond.

I think everyone is in agreement that the title error was an honest mistake. It shouldn’t have happened, but it did. On the other hand, the following behavior from Mr. Tmobil(and don’t think that this thread hasn’t been forwarded to someone at Tmobile!)was nothing short of vindictive and malicious. If you look carefully, the deposit was credited back to tmobils’ account long before he originally posted here. He was angry about the deal with the top and the police. Plain and simple. Tmobil is obviously a compulsive sort and speaks before thinking. He came up with the” I held it as collateral” story on the fly, otherwise he would have mentioned in his first attack on Premier. Even following Premiers post, our boy was still mud slinging. Calling them ‘crooks’ and ‘scumbags’ and creating a new thread, as if to rally his peers. On the other side, we have Premier who found out about the thread, bashing his reputation and responded with a measured, calculated, well-documented reply. I admire the fact that he could have joined in the ‘fun’ and got a few more remarks in on Saturday while Tmobil was backpedaling and generally acting like a fool. Afterall, this guy was attacking his lively-hood! He opted to let his reply stand and avoided the ‘kicking a guy when he’s down’ mentality. It says something about character. He stated his case clearly and concisely and left. My respect goes out to you.
Tmobil, you need to sell the Ferrari and get some common sense. It scares me to know that you are out there in a very fast ‘weapon’ without a shred of common sense. Gives new meaning to the saying “ too much horsepower under the hood, not enough under the hat”. Your poor judgment could get someone killed. Good luck, you’re going to need it!

Thank you for letting me post this. Great web site. I can’t afford a Ferrari but if I ever can, I’ll do my research here first.

I think the State or City has the criminal case not Premier. They have the civil case. It is up to the gov. to proceed against TMobile I think. I'm not a lawyer. I don't see a trial on this as the Gov. will cop a plea with TMobile and that will be that. He will not go to jail unless he is truly a bad man with a long record.

Millard South sucks and so does that pu*sy Crouch. Those of us from Omaha are not impressed.

I kind of felt sorry for tmobile at first. I thought for sure that Premier's response would be weak at best. Damn, I was wrong.

    Interesting thread!

If Premier has an ounce of business sense, they will see to it that all charges are dropped, refund the gentleman's expenses (no, not including the trailer!) and then apologize to him for causing him any distress.

Exactly when is Tmobile supposed to apologize to Premier for calling them crooks and scumbags?? Also if the police went to the trouble of setting up a "sting", Premier may not have any choice about dropping the charges. Tmobile's expenses may cancelout Premier's expenses for having to travel to Alabama to "purchase" thier Property. I know how Premier feels I once sold a car to someone who the first night he owned it did 2K in interior and transmission lock damage , stopped payment on the check and kept a $1K radio out of the car. I say let the DA and judge do what ever they possibly can to him especially after he came on here telling half truths and claiming to have a friend selling a 348 top so he could see how much he could fleece Premier for and starting another thread where he still calls them crooks and refuses to show any remorse other than remorse for being caught

Premier won't go after him. I don't think they want to stand in court either after the VIN thing

Fantastic thread to read but not so for the parties involved. It looks like a couple of simple errors on both sides (not to mention putting it on a public forum) escalated into this.

Don't know much about British law let alone American (Though I always watched LA Law and I am sure that is how it is in the US :D). But can't see it going anywhere.

I am sure people have bought Ferrari's and other car's off Ebay, but I could not buy any car let alone an Fcar without seeing it. Leave Ebay for those postable items! IMO.

As for VIN numbers etc. I have two stories summed up simply I hope.

Bought Honda from car sales lot, HPI showed finance still on the car. That was in the sales office on their computer. Transpires that the dealership they bought the car off had not "yet" cleared the previous owners debt. In the UK I believe it is illeagal to sell a car with finance on it if you have a registered car sales business, or something along those lines.
The car sales company quickly and promptly payed the finance then claimed it from the Honda dealership. I was concerned though.

When I did the HPI on my Mondial it came up as a stacker truck with the DVLA with finance on it!! On the DVLA register they only had the last 6 digits of the VIN which co-incided with the serial number of the stacker truck (the stacker truck does not have a VIN apparently).

So the last two cars I bought both looked dodgy when I did the checks. It's a nightmare!!!

This is not T-mobile....but he does want you to know that he wanted to say a final 'farewell' to any F-chatter that was ever nice to him. And that he just wanted his deposit and travel expenses back...thats all..."
I hope all the hate seekers out there will find comfort in knowing this....

Hmm, the guy on your link, SIRRORY YOUNG, does not exist when you put him in the inmate search for the Alabama Department of Corrections, here: http://www.doc.state.al.us/inmsearch.asp

Doesn't Alabama still use chain gangs???

Oh the drama. If Tmobile didn't post this, who did? His wife? If his wife did post this, I'd think she would have worded it thusly:

"This is Tmobile's wife, not Aaron...."

    But anyway,

    TMOBILEGUY,
I hate to say it but you did it to yourself. Had you come on here and posted the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth you may have been forgiven ( at least on this board) but you have still failed to show any remorse other than remorse for getting caught by Premier and the police. Before you go into court have a big slice of humble pie before opening your mouth and claim stupidity and beg for mercy. My guess though is once restitution is made you may be fined but I doubt seriously you will be sent to prison. I had 2 guys that worked for me when I was in the Armored Car industry steal $100,000.00 They spent about 10K of it before they were caught and admitted their crime. I had to beg a DA to prosecute them and then once they paid back the 10K they got a slap on the wrist and were sent home so I really do doubt that you will see the inside of a jail .
