OK, I just read through an incredibly boring 19 page thread on this topic, replete with name calling and a photo of a young lady giving someone the finger, but very little information on any substitute for weatherstrips.
So, it is now more than halfway through 2013. Has anyone come up with a source for an acceptable 512TR door weatherstrip (I am more concerned with function than original appearance).

Is this what you'r talking about? If so, I have some close contacts with a leading OEM door seal supplier and will ask them about a possible repair job. I'm sure there's a good method out there to butt this seam back up without resorting to a complete replacement.

    Ferraristi,

    Jim,

You can buy the OEM 512 TR weatherstrips from Central Florida Ferrari.....that's where I got mine.

Are they no longer available now?

How would you keep the seam together while the glue is curing? I thought of fabricating a right angle of similar material but one that would fit inside of the original seal approximately 50mm long each way. I would glue one side into position and let it set and then pull the original seal over the other side until it butted up and allow that glue to cure while clamping it.

Kerry, Rock hard in 10 seconds is not what I want.
Mel, that is not the seal I need fixed but from your pictures, looks like the inner door seal seems to be a problem too.

3M part 8011--•A Black, Fast Drying Adhesive That Can be Used for Sealing Between Rubber and Glass •Remains Flexible

This CRL 3M™ Weatherstrip Adhesive is used for bonding and sealing weatherstripping as well as sealing between rubber and glass. The black color matches most weatherstripping. It is easy to apply and remains flexible and is waterproof.

If you can't stretch the material to close the gap, I would glue a peice of rubber sheet on the inside to seal hole. Then build up the surface slowly with this stuff.

Update: I received my new weatherstrips from Kerry Wittig yesterday and they seem perfect and a nearly identical match to OEM, at a fraction of the cost. Me like.

    Ferraristi,

Thanks Jim. I figure given the real costs of running this car, what's a few hundred extra dollars over the span of ten years. Every time, I get in, nothing catches my eye....and that means a lot to me.

BTW, I was driving down I 75 just north of Sarasota on Thursday morning. I passed a red 512 TR with a M back going north....it had to be you. This was around 7:50 am.

Since I never see a TR on the road it looked sooooo cool and different to all the "bubbles" out there. lol
