    (XXX) - 337-7274?

    I was looking on the Verizon site and they had a vanity phone number section. Here is the link.

    If I ever change my cell number (which isn't likely since you can now keep your number), I will be temped to use 337-7274.

    how do i change my cell #? can i just call up at&t and ask them to change it or do i need to change plans etc

    You should be able to just change it without changing plans but there may be a charge to switch it. This whole number portability thing is great for customers but you would not believe the headache it has been for myself and I imagine everyone in the cellular business.

    the FCC said that portability can happen...however they did not state how long it should take. some people have been waiting for a long while, others are a quick turnaround.

    The FCC said that by Nov 24, 2003 the top 100 areas should have portability and that all the other areas should have it within 6 months after that.
