Yup. Standing on a German Henschel truck. Six gears (if I remember correctly), non synchronized. Overwide. The ultimate beast to take up a narrow mountain road. And I pulled a 35mm anti aircraft cannon behind it (the same system used by the Germans on their Gepard tanks and by other nations on their destroyers). Jause!

Neither, it is a Swiss assault rifle. I forgot the exact name (the number represents the year it was handed over to the Army). It was something like Sturmgewehr 72 (STGW72) or whatever year it was.

High power assault rifle with automatic, single and repeat mode. Very effective, and extremely accurate. By now replaced with a lighter and more compact version, but nothing as accurate. You could hit the infamous apple at 300 yards with this sucker, without an optic viewfinder. And you could launch RPGs with it as well. You can tell I loved this weapon. It also earned me a "sharp shooter" nomination. No wonder, I trained with it since I was 16.

It's definitely a Storm Rifle, although being half blind, I can't make too much detail out of the picture.

    Might be a 44?

    Twice wrong:
Kuckucks Uhren (cuckoo clocks) are from The Black Forest in Germany. I know they are sold in Switzerland to tourists, but they really have no heritage/tradition in Switzerland.
Swiss arms industry is a big business in the country. They manufacture weapons, tanks, planes, you name it. Some of it is great, some not. The Army's motorbike is a suicide waiting to happen (I rode them).

That's sweet you think that way. The Swiss tourism industry will thank you.

However translated from a web site critical of weapons industries: It lists the traditional weapons and arms producing countries in the following order:

    1. Germany
    ....
    6. Russia
    7. USA
    8. Switzerland

    Go figure.
