haha i know the title may seem confusing but you all remember stephen from the enzo crash. well anyways his wife was spotted driving a black SLR in LA today and the reason it was noticed was because it did not have CA plates but instead had european plates. well the slr was towed and i wasnt sure what happened to the wife, if she was taken into custody or not but i just saw the story on ABC7 news right now and i tried finding the link on their website but its not there... i hope its there soon.

btw i believe this is stephen driving (in another enzo) and this is his wife getting out of the car http://videos.streetfire.net/category/Ferrari/1/4A3AC693-F887-4741-B839-F13C61981261.htm

notice the rear european plates also..
but then i can be wrong, its just a theory i was thinking of. yes i know i have too much time on my hands :)

How can he get away with driving his car in the states with European plates?

If you can afford an Enzo, then I'm pretty sure you can afford the $100 ticket.

As I understand it the cars are registered in another country and are over here on a special show permit or some other type of special allowance. They probably are not supposed to be driven much, if at all.

Those plates are mainland British. The first two leters designate the regional office in the UK where it was registered. MX may be Manchester. The two numbers (04) designate it was registered between 1st March 2004 & 31st August 2004. The last three letters can be any sequence except letters that can be confused with numbers. eg: I can be seen as 1 etc. Normally a UK registration number remains with the vehicle when it is sold. Some do buy a 'private' registration so they can spell a word or name (hence many Brits delete their numbers on the Net in pics).

If the stories are true that the SLR & Black Enzo still have outstanding finance on them with the Bank of Scotland then they are legally owned by the Bank & not those driving them in the States. Ownership doesn't pass until every last penny is paid up. Until then the Swede is only the 'registered keeper' in British law.
